BPH nocturia no GP appointment before 9 Janaury: are there any over the counter medicines?

Posted , 4 users are following.

I preempt that BPH is my problem. I have nocturia and I am getting up to urinate five or six times every night. I cannot see a GP until 9 January. Are any non-presciption mediciations effective?

As long as you do not have any issues with your stream - starting and emptying, try Ibuprofen before bed. I tried it before my issues started and it seemed to help.

    Of course stop fluids early.

Thank you, bill, for your help. That definately improves matters provided I do not wake up for another reason such as my wife disturbing me.

Stop eating cereal and bread/toast at breakfast.

Don't drink (alcohol or espresso) after 8hrs before bed.

If you must drink, take an anti inflammatory before sleep.

These two things resolved my symptoms.

    Good luck.
