Chronic Urticaria

Hi All,

I was diagnosed with Urticaria in Dec 2021 I had covid from 24th Dec - 2nd Jan, then about 7th Jan started coming out with rashes all over my stomach, I was given Loratadine to take, which did nothing, then was given fexofenadine 180mg and told to take two in the morning and two at night. Now it was termed as Chronic Urticaria. Nothing seemed to help and was referred to Dermatology, but the wait was horrendous, so paid privately to see one. He told me to carry on with Fexofenadine two twice daily and add in Montelukast.

By this time I was stressed out, I then saw same dermatologist on nhs and he started me on Xolair injections one in each leg every four weeks. Unfortunateley I have just had another flare up, so have been told to stop the injections and most likely he will start me on Cyclosporin, but i am a bit worried as I also suffer from Addisons Disease (renal problem), and had cancer in the past.

I wondered if anyone else on here has had same experience and if the Cyclosporin has helped without too many side effects.

Thank you in advance.

Bev
