    Hello Welsh Girl:

My name is Shelly and I am a Nurse.  I live in the USA and I have Hypothyroid.  When you say the gland is swollen, can you swallow okay?  Is there any redness? Did you take your temp?

The area from one ear to the other has lymph nodes and they can get inflammed. They can swell. If it feels swollen do not wait, go to your GP or to an Emergency room facility.  It could be an allergy or infection so have it checked out.

Hi Shelly thankyou for your reply! When i first woke this morning they did feel swollen, but as the day has gone on they dont feel swollen anymore! I haven't got a sore throat at all just felt tender to touch! I have kept an eye on it today and thankyou very much for your concern! Think i just panic first thing!
