help - Are my symptoms typical of globus?

5 yrs ago I suffered several bouts of Dysphagia, in the lower oesophagus. An endoscopy revealed I had a mild Shatzki ring, likley caused by GERD and I was prescribed omeprazole, which stopped the dysphagia, but gave me stomach pains, high blood pressure and other nasty side effects. As the dysphagia stopped, I was advised to instead take lansoprazole for a few days in future if I ever feel any dysphagia (which Ive had only twice in 5 yrs since) or heartburn symptoms, which I now get probably once or twice every 4-10 weeks, mainly if I've eaten a poor diet for a few days.
2 months ago I started to experience sporadic tension pain in what feels like two bilateral muscles between my chin and throat, basically a feeling of squeezing or tightness in these two muscles, sometimes radiating to the whole side of my left neck muscle. I had no cough, no soreness inside the actual throat tissue, no hoarseness, no feeling of a lump in my throat, no phlegm, no heartburn, no difficulty swallowing or breathing, just the muscle pain. My GP advised that I should take lansporasole twice a day as a precaution, which I did for 6 weeks, which unfortunatley casued the same side effects as the omeprasole, and had no effect on the throat symptoms, which gradually got worse, and I started to get a lump like feeling in my upper throat when swallowing every now and again.
Two weeks ago an ENT specialist gave me a minor LPR and globus sensation diagnosis after a nasal endoscopy, advised twice daily ranitidine and gaviscon advance for several months, with the usual lifestyle changes. Since getting the diagnosis the globus sensation has progressed to now occur permanently, although I do get releif when eating, for about half an hour after I have woken up, and for several hours after I've walked briskly for a couple of hours. I've also noticed that a small amount of alcohol (one pint of beer), also reduces the feeling for a few hours afterwards.
Painkillers, muscle relaxants and the ranitidine/lansoprazole/gaviscon regime that I have been on for 9 weeks seem to have made the symptoms wosre, so I am sceptical that I have true globus.
Although I am not anxious, the feeling I have at the moment is all consuming and seems to be getting worse day by day. I still have the throat muscle tension and my upper throat feels like it is permanently being squeezed from the inside - is this typical of any of you long term globus sufferers, or do you think my problem may be related to something else?

I've had globus since jan, after a nasal camera i was diagnosed with LPR and prescribed pantoprazole. I feel this has made my condition worse but unfortunately despite me reporting that i feel the tablets give me a feeling of trapped wind and discomfort at the top of my stomach and throat, ent dismiss that the tablets could e a problem.
The best way to get rid of globus is to forget about it, not easy when you feel you are being slowly strangled
