Recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, what do I expect?

I need to know what to expect. I went to the doctor because my breasts were lactating and Im not pregnant. They did bloodwork. All I got was a phone call telling me it's hyperthyroidism, that I'll have an ultrasound and be sent to a specialist out of town. They didn't tell me what to expet as far as symptoms. Well lately, besides my breasts, I've also been very tired shortly after I wake up. I will be awake a few hours and literally start nodding out. So I nap. If I don't nap for at least two hours the nodding out continues. Thats new. I've also become very ocd and very clean. I've always had very mild ocd, but now it's getting worse. And I've never bwen a super clean person but now if I don't have all the dishes out of the sink before bed, it's the first thing I do in the morning. And that's just an example. My house never used to be spotless. But it is now. Like I cannot sit down. I always feel like there is more to do. Is that a symptom? What about short term memory loss? That's been an issue lately too. Are all these related or am I overreacting??? I've found things onlin. But I don't always truse websites. I'd rather hear it from real people.

I don't think the lactating is related to the hyperthyroidism. I had an elevated level of Prolactin which causes the breast problem but that was before I ever got hyperthyroidism. They never figured out why but after menopause that problem went away. The rest of your symptoms like OCD is due to anxiety and that is a symptom of hyperthyroidism, so is brain fog (short term memory loss). The sleep problems could also be related to the thyroid disorder but it could also be a separate issue. I have sleep apnea and that causes symptoms like you are experiencing about your sleep. So being hyper and untreated makes a person feel very unwell.

Well I went in for the lactatING and the doctors said it was caused by the hyperthyroidism since it controls a lot of your hormones. Yeah I haven't been myself lately for sure. Between the tiredness, my ocd being worse than usual and having to clean my house like all day. It's crazy.
