Definite Cure for Blepharitis

Posted , 21 users are following.

I am a long term sufferer of blepharitis and dry eye syndrome, recently while researching for treatment updates I stumble across a post by lynda79. The same post is on a few forums and she has figured out that a product called "wet ones" that contain an ingredient Benzethonium Chloride are a cure for blepharitis are a cure. Simple as that, it only takes 3.5 months of use as mentioned by other posters.

So as I am looking at the posts and checking out the profiles of the people who are making these statements about the mericle cure such as eileen64 UK, jenny_74 and the aptly titled Honjon..... I had a good think about things and today as I was going in to Sainsburys (A shopping centre) in the UK, I noticed a big advertised container on the way in offering free "wet ones" wipes.. Now I am no albert einstien or warren buffett and I dont like making predictions but I am a natural sceptic and my bull**** dector has all ways been quite good. I smell bull**** in the worst of a way and if you people just look at the comments these people are making and the replies and name dropping in thier posts you will sense something odd too.

I think we are dealing with a bunch of company promoting charlatans and i for one am not prepaired to put that stuff near my eyelids

I quite agree, wet wipes contain no medicinal products at all, they are useless, and probably as you say just a cheap advertising gimmick. I too am a blepharitis sufferer and the only thing that gives me the slightest relief is hypremellose eye drops and can confidently recommend these although you have to use a lot and they don't "hit the spot" 100,% of the time. As a matter of fact I have had to use so much of them that Pharmacy2,,U, whom I deal with, are reluctant to keep up the supply of how much I seem to need, but they are very refreshing, and go at least some way to easing inflammation, only hope this helps, Fiona

By the way, sorry for my terrible grammar. I was in a hurry to get out the door while writing my original post smile

Hypremellose drops work for me every time, although I agree with you about wet wipes, they are completely ineffective

Hi there, I suffered from Blepharitis for over ten years and can honestly say that the wet ones have helped me more then any orher product out there. I was sceptical at first and was doubtful they would change this annoying condition. I only used the wet ones for a few weeks and the crusts I usually get every morning have disappeared . I am nothing to do with promoting products, just a genuine Blepharitis sufferer that can confirm that the wet ones do you actually work. you can take my word for it or continue to suffer. But they did work for me. Just saying

I havent been active for a while on this forum because I have been happy in remission and focused on my busy life.I never stopped receiving messages through my e mail another words I never signed out for good..Only because this forum helped me approach my condition in totally different way.Yes I feel respect for Linda and others who unselfishly keep on helping people. So jakestephen, think again, because if you keep on following official medicine you will hardly ever get rid of this condition.I am not a person who easily get brain washed, I dont buy everything out there..

The thing is WHETHER OR NOT WE WORK FOR THIS COMPANY, IT HELPS ANYWAY...But i have to disappoint you, I dont..I never met Lynda but my guts tell me she is kind and genuine person...

I dont have time to waste so i dont want any deeper conversation here.

You have every right to be sceptical but do you have any courage or any will to bring this condition to the end?

You could at least try and then say something...It cannot be definite cure for everyone but for quite few - yes..

You make me use your weapons and say this : what if you work for a competetive company yourself.? How are you feeling now?

I am sorry, I felt I had to say something back...

I also suffer a lot with Blepharitis and dry eye and since March this year I have been tearing my hair out and being really depressed because of it. I am still in a lot of discomfort it keeps flaring up and is so painful. I would try anything for relief and I did try the "wet one " and was so disappointed they didn't work for me I was unfortunately allergic to them. But I wouldn't knock anyone for using these or anything else if they are working for them. I am from today trying the "blephaclean" wipes and hopefully these will work although they are a lot more expensive than the wet ones.

Hypremellose drops work for me where nothing else does, they really effectively brought down the inflammation and I don't know why they are not given more credit

Hi fiona51388. I was using the hypromellose drops till my surgery changed them and found it was cheaper to buy over the counter for a better mix ....the surgery prescription went from BP 0.3% w/v to BP 0.1% w/v. Not knowing if it would make a difference I decided to buy them myself ...... Unfortunately I have never received anything free from NHS so most things are cheaper for me to buy. I am using the drops and gel. The gel is better for when I go to work .... I have also changed from the Johnson baby shampoo (yellow) to their new born fragrance free shampoo (white) see if this makes a difference ....

I would never use baby shampoo as I used to use it on my hair and it stung when I got it in my eyes. I am happy with the hypremellose as they are very effective

I really need something more than the drops .... Even at the moment my eyes look as if I have been made up to star in a vampire film !!  Red over eyelids with a welt on the right eye .... Ands ark red under the eyes with awful marks .... I am back to the doctors Wednesday and hopefully I will be referred again to the specialist ...... The drops alleviate the dry eye but not my Blepharitis ..... Unfortunately ..... If it wouldn't be so painful I would cry .... :-(

well, I used the wet ones, and was really noticing a major improvement, when I accidently poured some substance In my right eye. I mistook it for my eye drops. My left eye gives me very little problems because the wet ones almost cleared it up, but i stoped using them because of the accident. I think the wet ones are a great idea, and that they really work My right eye is doing better now though. Hardly any problem, except for the blep. I may use them again in the furture. Thanks Lynda79 for all your help! smile Dena

Hypremellose drops do not have side effects and free on the NHS

Thanks Dena, It's great to hear they improved your condition but the facts are still that there is not a whole lot of people coming forward to say they are cured from blepharitis (apart from the named in my original post) and personally I still think it's a promotional scam.

Years back I seen a post about some woman curing blepharitis with bleach that was mixed with water... this sort of thing is crazy and because no doctor or trained expert is willing to come forward and give an air or credibility to these claims I would not go putting strong hand cleaner near my eyes! there is all ready someone who had a bad reaction to it on this forum...

I understand that people are desperate about trying to find a cure, but how do you know that these wipes are not doing irreversible damage to your eyes or eyesight?

I think the sale of wet ones by a company as big as Playtex is

a drop in their corporate bucket.   Can't believe they would

perpertrate a scam on a blogging site from the U.K.

      Ridiculous!!!!

A lot of people found relief with the use of wet ones.  Can't

criticise those that want to try.....

With the height of respect - Who said this is perpetrated from the UK?

How many blogging sites was this new cure posted on?

      How common is blepharitis?

Why would you completely ignore the possibility of foul play?

Do you realise how corrupt some of these pharma/ promotional/ advertising companies are?

These people who found relief, have you seen their progress? Do you know them personally?

Sorry if this sounds patronising and I am doing my best not to come across as some crazy conspiracy theorist but one thing I know for sure is that where there is money to be earned and desperation there is usually snake oil salesmen lurking around.
