Difficulty in swallowing.

Hello everyone.

I have been having difficulty in swallowing for some months now. I was eating fried rice on a Thursday-night when i started choking. The rice couldn't go down properly as i swallowed. It got stuck in my throat. This was in early April.

I visited a GP who ruled it out as nothing by just running some blood tests and looking into my mouth. Eventually, few weeks after visiting the GP, it got better as i stopped eating hard foods. Was just on noodle soup, mash potatoes and liquids. Gradually, i started adding solids to my list of food and all was good until last week. Had a BBQ at a friends and the following day, i couldn't swallow. I don't feel food passing down my throat. I feel it going from my mouth to throat and that's it.

I feel pain at the back of my throat and it burns. I also had dull chest pain and feels like something is stuck in my throat.I also have mucus building alot in my throat and my throat seems red. I must also say i suffer from IBS-M and i have bloating and flatulence alot. Also, i have occasional difficulty in breathing from reflux that always takes me to the ER. I had two episodes of them last year. At the ER, they always give me a throat numbing agent with gaviscon and my difficulty in breathing stops. They never really told me what is wrong.

I must say, my IBS or my difficulty in breathing episodes due to reflux has never caused me difficulty in swallowing before.

Has anyone else have something like this? What do you advice i do? What do you think is the root cause?
