Feeling very down, awaiting tests to prove IBS,IBD,cealic or the Big C!!

Hello there

I'm 26 years old, I've suffered with constipation since birth.

Then I had a great normal 2 years amazing!

Last year July I started getting rumbling and loud noises in my tummy, followed with watery stools covered in mucus.

Like normal I thought I've eaters something bad, or I had a small infection so of to the GP I went. She examined me and so wow lots of bubbling & loud noises she suspected it was a gastric infection. She requested for me to do bloods and a stool test

It came back clear, she sent me home. It carried on for a further month I was gutted!

Then over November period I started getting serve indigestion, trapped gas in my rectum and the smell was awful & embarrassing, nausea.

The doctors then told me IBs would be to blame, I was given Melberine and laxido to help me go. It worked, but the indigestion got worse to the point I felt I couldn't breathe. Eventually the Laxido stopped, I went back to the GP as I felt I lost weight. She said I doubt it but I will weigh you, she said 'ow my god you have lost 6lb in 8 weeks' then found my colon & small intestines swollen.

She gave me some supposidries and said if nothing improves you must come back in 2 weeks.

Well I found out I was 4 weeks pregnant, due to hormones it was making things more worse. That I would not be allowed to have a colonoscopy, I was put on another set of supposidries.

Once I had administrated them after being in pain all night, the baby heart stopped at 10 weeks. We went to the hospital for scan that day confirmed.

I wasn't shocked I knew the meds and the suffering would do it.

Finally I got a referral to see a gastric specialist altho ID have to wait another 4 weeks for an appointment. In the last 5 weeks I am now having blood and chunks of pink tissue in my stool it looks like stomach lining in an odd way & constipation is back.

I am now awaiting in June to have a gastroscopy and biopsy and colonoscopy, end of the month a scan of my liver. The specialist mentioned to test for Cealic but she generally thought it is IBS.

My results will be given in August!

I'm so scared I have colon cancer and that I have been left with it to progress by the time they have caught it, it would be 13 months in August.

I was just wondering is anyone on here having the same thing, constipation, blood and pink to then white flesh mixed in there stool??

Thank you so much for reading this, I have lost 9lbs and now at 7stone2 I hate it!!

    You poor thing

you sound very stressed and as you know that won't help matters but I do feel for you it sounds like you you are having a real hard time of it at the moment

regarding the colon thing I'm sure it would have shown up in the first blood test

try to relax ( Easier said than done ) I know but stress is nasty and can make your mind play horrible tricks on your body .

    please take care xxx

I don't know if you were tested for Clostridium difficile but what you describe is similar to the symptoms of that, I had it for six months and it was a complete nightmare. If you haven't been tested for it (with stool tests), ask your doctor if it is possible you have that, cause I did and your symptoms are the same.

Now I just have IBS and am getting better.

    Good luck!

They haven't actually mentioned that one to me, so will be asking next time I'm in unfortunately that's not till August but I could do a separate stool test with my GP to see if that comes up.

      Thank you xx

      UPDATE:

Ok so I got my first results back for the only test I've done far Bloods, everything was normal however blood count was not she sign on the phone sign of infection or cancer. Bloods to be retake in another month, I'm not happy about this!

You can't class that as normal let's see if it goes away Ive been sick since last July this is my life your playing around with!

So now it's down to that colonoscopy to tell the truth next month, but even then to wait till August is so hard.

Do you think I should ask for bloods to be taken again? As my sypmtoms have got worse, these bloods were taken before the chunks of tissue & blood. So I was thinking this could show up now.

I.e. Anemia showing there is bleeding going on.

l,m sorry for what your going through, it is terrible when youve to wait and your suffering and lifestyle is badly affected, l went through long periods of waiting for tests scan before scope diagnosed inflammation of the bladder, severe, also ibs but that not severe. l felt same frustration as mine went on for years, l also got aneamia on and off, as with thrush.  But your symptom sounds it should require a quicker response, and yes blood tests do show up cancer l believe, cells etc, if abnormal usually results in urgent referral, but could be some type of inflammatory response. But if doc doesnt know about tissue loss l,d let them know and how worried you are having to wait,  If its classed as urgent the consultant can see you earlier, if gp marks urgent on referral, thats how it used to be, but many changes,

You could also pay to see gastroenterologist to speed it up, think it costs about 250 pound for consultation,  but go let your gp know your new syptoms and worries. Best Wishes

ps there are other bowel conditions where you can pass blood and mucus, crohn,s, colitus, probably more, and losing weight is typical for many, so dont worry its the worst, take care

      Thank you Lynn,

I am trying to think right I've most likely got crohns or colitus, I am under specialist care I'm having my liver scan 29th May. Then 8th June edoscop then 16th June colonoscopy & biopsy.

But I wasnt bleeding when I last checked in the specialist, so thought maybe I should keep them updated?

I've had a big bleed today, but I had a dentist appointment & work the this morning I don't have time to stop for it.

The GP are calling me back today to talk things through, hoping it can give me piece of mind.

      Xx

There,s a cronhs site on here could give you more info on symptoms, to see if it sounds like yours. Youve a busy life when your not feeling good, l expect your little boy will keep you busy, in good way, distracting, as small kids do. At least the first test is within sight, they might speed it up for you to help. best wishes and peace of mind.

Only joined today, but can really sympathise with your symptoms.  I have had boughts of ache's pains in the stomach, back, head - pretty much everywhere since Jan/Feb 15.  Went to the Dr then and had blood test all ok, then high blood pressure resulted in ECG all fine - but know I am not myself.  Went back last Friday and the Dr suggested a colonoscopy, so I am just waiting for the appointment to arrive.  She mentioned stool test but said if I want to rule out anything sinister then may as well go straight for the coloncoscopy.  In a way I'm glad, but like you life is one big stress and the waiting game really doesn't help.  Good luck to youconfused

I know how your feeling Zara1988. I've had troubles on and off since being diagnosed with IBS when I was 14 (I'm now 42). I lost a ton of weight last year, tests showed I had a b12 deficiency. My ibs flares up now and then, but been so bad recently, I look 3 months pregnant, really noticeable as I've also lost weight again! I've just had a blood test Friday, a general full blood count, plus testing for crohns, celiacs(spelling?) and ovarian cancer. I also had to do a stool sample. I'm basically having all the tests possible. The test to check for cancer is CA125, as soon as the nurse told me I was being tested for this, my heart sunk sad. I hope you get some answers soon. Just remember, your not alone.x

I'm so sorry honey...I am new here and didn't know where to start and wow even tho this is in the UK, I've decided to sign up and my mouth just dropped with over soooo many topics and members! Maybe this is it??!!! Giving myself HOPE in the problem I am having. Some of u are like me with less symptoms so I'm so lost and same as you with myself being "petrified" !! I hope everything goes well with you. Heres my story if anyone is knowing the answer to my issue please HELP!! Zara1988 I'm following you and pray for you. You ARE young! God bless you!

Okay honestly to make a LONG STORY SHORT, I am in process of suing a GI specialist in my hometown because I am DEAF and they REFUSED to provide an ASL (American Sign Language) just because they are a "small" office... seriously? I was in excruciating pain. I had to be hospitalized and was taken by ambulance (snowstorm) The roads were very bad but luckily, they allowed my partner to ride ( broke their rules but because we were stuck- car wouldn't or couldn't move, they allowed her and warned her they were NOT responsible for any injury to happen on road with me. She just flat out and said I DONT CARE, GET MY WIFE TO HOSPITAL NOW! So sure enough I was admitted for 4 days. First off, this is very embarrassing but for the first time ever in my life, I passed gas thru my mouth! My wife never complained and took care of me for a day n half at home. Then kept on having diarrhea. Coukdnt keep NOTHING DOWN but I did eat chicken noodle soup before I went to hosp about 2 or 3 hrs beforehand. Well embarrasing again...they rushed me into a room and this young nurse was new, mind you. But luckily my wife used to be a cna so she helped him. Ambulance did not cut my fav shirt but I was weak and so sick no talking or fussing. Never had this before but the nurse and my wife forgot to warn me to SWALLOW. They were putting a tube thru my nose. Thats where all the soup came up. Again embarrasing. But they kept on til I made it. They ran cat scan twice. Xray, blood work thought I had blockage to bowels. Face pale and no sweat. Just pain in my bowels BAD. They went ahead gave me pain meds thru IV dont remember much 1st couple of days. Found nothing. Sent me to a different specialist because I'm suing the other. This has went on since Feb this year and now I've notice I've gained 25 lbs in 3 months from bloating or no bowel movement oh my l, I am seriously thinking to myself wow this is KILLLLLING me wow! Any suggestions or thoughts anyone?? Much love to u all with ILY hand sign-- God Bless
