Has anyone had a stress test while being newly diagnosed with hyperthyroid?

My mom is scheduled for a stress test this Tuesday. She recently went to the ER for chest discomfort and had an abnormality on her ECG - ST depression in inferior leads. She has been so worried over that and has also found out her thyroid levels are off - overactive. Well, she was reading about how stress tests can be dangerous when you have hyperthyroid. She isn't being treated for it as of yet. Her doctor wants to re-check in 3 weeks to see if her levels go back to normal before referring her to a specialist since it has done this once before.

      Agree with tina14535.

      I would not do it!

I had graves disease uncontrolled for 6 years until last year when my thyroid started giving out. Now I'm hashimoto's. I would have had a heart attack if I had done a stress test. I could barely walk 30 feet my heartrate stayed at 150 and higher for 6 straight years. I couldn't take the 2 pills that helps control graves due to Lupus. I have both graves disease antibodies and hashimoto's antibodies. I kept my heart rate under control with lopressor until my thyroid finally gave out. If she can get her heart rate under control then do a stress test.

Stress of any kind reduces magnesium levels significantly. Mag is crucial to relaxing blood vessels. Also i0dine will bring thyroid levels down. Dark leafy green veg contains this or get it in liquid form.
