In Bed for 2 Days

Hi all I'm on Day 12 of Flu... I have been in the bed the past 2 days. Napping and watching TV. No real motivation for much. Is this normal? I see a lot of people still go to work or they're still active, so I'm a bit concerned. Today I did wakeup with no stomach issues but after showering and feeding my puppy have stayed in bed. Please share your experience or if I should be concerned. Thanks in advance.

I spent the first 2-3 weeks in bed. We're all different with different levels of anxiety and things we are capable of. I started forcing myself out of bed at the end of week three.. it was painful but it helped to get out.. although there was no way i could havedone it before then.

I think you're reacting very normally. What are you currently feeling apart from unmotivated?

Thank you Aquin. Besides unmotivated, I feel lonely and just blah. Not much anxiousness today but really just complacent. Not happy nor sad. Mostly lonely though. I have isolated myself from people, was kind of hard to keep up with my friends dealing with all of this. Also was finding it incredibly hard to just engage in normal activities or be around chipper people.

Yup that all sounds very normal! I had some extremely depressed days and feeling hopeless. Hang in there. It'll all be worth it ?

I agree that this is normal. When you're not feeling yourself it's hard to want to face the world. I try to rest a little each day, mainly because I feel like it helps with the physical side effects (and I am still not sleeping great at night so I am legitimately tired lol). I feel the same way some days, just not wanting to face anyone to have to pretend or act like everything is fine. You will get there, don't be too hard on yourself. It's different for everyone and we all react to the medication differently.
