Itchy - filaments seen

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi, I have been having skin on hands, thighs, stomach, and back with red areas.

I have a 400x dermascope and see black, white, purple, pink thinner than hair filaments in areas I scratched.

They are wavey, straights, or tangled.

Pictures attaches.

It seems they are the itch causing things as I see them where I scratched but I could be wrong.

Sam, are you in an area where Lyme disease is prevalent? These are sometimes associated with Lyme disease and they have been given the name of Morgellons fibres. Its such a highly contested subject that you need to see a dermatologist, or if you are in UK...which I dont think you are....see your GP.

You should see someone about this as soon as you can.
