It does X it's a process, taking meds to suit, getting levels sorted. I know you feel awful, but give it time. Try not I panic, that makes it worse.

Keep a diary of symptoms, levels and meds.

work with this to get better xx

That's the question I have been asking, but so far no that's for my symptoms. I pray that you get better soon.

Hi Cheryl  what medication are you on? Have the given you a beta blocker? I also wish they had put me on anxiety medication, it would have helped me.  I had Graves' disease  and was very poorly, but have now had nearly 2 years good health and feel normal again. Xxx

Hi What meds are you on? What were your results like? Hope you don't mind my asking.

I'm waiting to be scheduled with a specialist. I hate taking meds. Actually it's more like a phobia. I was in the er with a thyroid storm when the doctor had to tell me let them give me meds or go home and tell the ones I love goodbye. So then I took them meds. I am on methimazole and atenolol. I'm feeling better than what I do two weeks ago but still tired

I'm on atenolol. And methimazole. I'm feeling a lot better from two weeks ago my levels are dropping

I was on block carbimazol and replace thyroxine with propananol for 18 months - my anxiety was horrendous and my bp was 180/150 so was put on bp medication and citalopram - the consultant really wanted to remove my thyroid but I didn't want to.  I am now on citalopram 30 mg and low dose of bp medication with 10mg of propanol just for reassurance!   X

It took 6 weeks for the meds to get me back to work.  You have to get over your phobia - you are poorly and need all the medication they can give you.  You will be absolutely exhausted so just rest and wait.  I promise it will get better.  I never thought it would and I can't tell you how happy and well I feel now - I appreciate it so much. Xxx

    Cheryl

No matter how bad you feel right now

You will , given the correct meds, become much better and that dreadful feeling of being terrified will gradually subside and you will become normal again .. And all the other hellish symptoms you no doubt also have will start to disappear too ... And you will need the help of others less and less..and you will be able to care for your family , as before .

Have you been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism .. Or even Graves'

    M ??X

    disease ?

Nothing yet I live in a small town and it's a 6 week wait to see a specialist. And thank you! You have me hope!

Cheryl can you ask your Dr to take your bloods and test for

thyrpid antibodies to see  exactly what you Do have ?

its a long time to wait feeling so poorly .

then you will have at least something to show the endocrinologist

      when you meet .

then you could post on here and some great folk will decipher them

      for you ...

      luv mx🌹

Yes I will thanks for the information I have a apt this Tuesday with my family doctor I will ask him. I know my levels were 37 and then last test it went down to 21 that was after a week on meds.

My T4 was 97 so took a while to come down.  You will be fine - they say 2-4 weeks and you are starting to feel better. Just rest and wait.  You are going in the right direction. Ask about propananol for the anxiety short term. Xx
