Hi all , short as I can ..ive suffered. Pain in my lower. Abdomen. Since. Having my first child almost. 13 years ago now ..ive had so many different. Tests .. And everytime. Pushed and told I have IBS ..i never believe. Them as I know. My own body ..ive been. Scanned. And shown cysts b4 and then just sent home and ignored...back in 2012 just. After we re located south ..england ...i had a scan that showed. What they said was an abnormal cyst ..next doc said it looked. Like a endometriosis cyst..so I had a laproscopy ..told it was just. A fybroid and left in pain ...since. I have had my 3rd child and when pregnant scan showed. Yet another. Cyst ...again ignored...so I asked back November 2014 for a scan ...had it December 15th ...guess. It showed. A cyst ...the lady asked id I ever had a name for my cysts ...well not. Really ....so she said it looks. Like a dermoid. Cyst....about 1 hour after getting. Home my doctor. Called and told me its a large. Cyst and he has referred me to a gyno . Wich my app is on the 22nd Jan 2015 ...i rang doc back with a few questions he didn't really say much but I asked him how long has it been there and he told me its the same one I had in 2012 ...im now left confused and a little angry I've been messed around so long...his wife doctor a few weeks b4 gave me ibs pills and just went on telling me how we all get cysts and they go but my pain is ibs ..... I know its not :-( my side is hurting my lower tummy , my back ..odly my right leg im really hoping this time I get answers .

I'm sorry to hear your story and that you have been suffering so long. Frankly it doesn't surprise me one bit. My docs have been telling me I have IBS all last year but after booking a private scan I have a cyst and now I know I'm going to have to push like mad to get anything done because they say it is smaller in size than what they usually operate on. Hopefully for you now as it is large you will get surgery quickly. Keep us posted and good luck x

Hi Louise- my 2 cysts are 5cm and 8cm. They are doing a hysterectomy because of my age 74- no longer need my bits. On google it says they just monitor cysts below 5cm by 3 or 4 month ultrasound scans, but do fight your corner and get the answers you want. Good luck xx

Hi Louise - been for appointment. It was a talk with the consultant who will do the surgery. He gave me 2 options 1) Do nothing, but monitor the cysts to see if they grow BUT if they do and they are cancerous it could be too late or 2) have a hysterectomy to remove womb and ovaries. He said the choice was mine after going through all the things that could happen. He has no way of knowing whether it's cancer other than a biopsy on the cysts

Because I feel so well- no symptoms and my blood was only 27(normal is 35) he then came back 5 mins after leaving me to talk to nurse and added "laparoscopy" to possible surgery on my consent form. This would remove the ovaries/ or take a sample to be tested. It is less invasive, but doesn't always show up if there is any other infection/cancer inside the abdomen! I got a date for 27th Jan so will have to see what happens Sylvia x

Hi Amy- I go in 2 hours to see Gynaecological Oncologist ! Even the name scares me. It's to find out when I'll be having a hysterectomy.I'm a fit 74 yr old! Funnily enough, although I didn't know I had 2 ovarian cysts until Dec 17th , and feel really well- no other pains-i have been having pain in my right thigh which not severe but makes me get out of bed most days. It goes when I walk around and has been there months. You have been messed about. There is a routine most hospitals have to follow with cysts-(my niece is an oncologist in London and quite reassuring that I have had same treatment in NE England as they would do) ie ultrasound,Gynaecologist, blood tests,CT scan then today's appointment. The gyno appointment was lovely by the way- I was worried before but it was a gentle ultrasound in vagina-didn't hurt at all and she showed me the 6 pictures afterwards- not that I understood them - all grey and black. Don't worry about the 22nd-you will get some answers then probs a CT scan which again is just laying down while it takes pics of your bits-quite relaxing took 15-20 mins. You must be worried and these are hard times but please god we will get the right care now. Keep in touch xx

This time and help me I can say yes to remove anything .. I'm to the point of desperate. As in so much pain every day . Its sort of good to hear we have all been. Told the same ..ibs rubbish. Coz maybe one day it will get noticed and atleast one lucky person won't. Have years of pain and no end x. Sylvia. I hope your appointment. Went ok ...x

Hi Amy,the appointment was fine just talking me thro options for surgery.  First it was a hysterectomy but now he might do a laparoscopy which is better, send a sample of cyst to path lab to see if it's cancer. If not that would be it. If it was cancer would have hysterectomy on 27th Jan. One way or another it's getting sorted and I feel a lot better than in the last few weeks I feel a hysterectomy would mean I wouldn't get cysts there again Good luck xx

I'm going to ring the Dr today Sylvia and see if I can see the women's health specialist in the meantime. Just for reassurance really that they are following the right route, I feel abandoned because I have to chase everything up all the time

Hi Louise, The doctor has GOT to do something for you. It's ridiculous that anyone should suffer like you and Amy. Keep in touch. I am much more relaxed as I now have 2 weeks to get my life back to 'normal' before surgery- never had surgery before. I'm walking, going to gym and swimming again as I was before all this started on Dec 10th 2014.Have also found out I'm anaemic which could explain me sleeping thro the day. They give you 2-3 months of iron injection(only if you agree) before operation. They doing trials and thinks it saves having blood transfusions during/after ops Take care xx

Hi Amy- I hope the doc did phone louise  and that you are OK , hate to think of anyone in daily pain. Got a date Jan 27th for EITHER a laparoscopy- keyhole to see if cysts cancerous. If they are NOT malignant I will probs be left alone. Otherwise it will be hysterectomy. Going to have 2 'normal' weeks now hopefully. xx
