To stay with flu or to switch?

Hi All, I find this so frustrating, been on flu for over 8 weeks 20mg, been told to go up to 40mg...but does it make sense to go up on a drug that doesn't seem to have positively effected you at all? And then if I go up to 40mg how long do I wait to see improvement. If I am better off switching to a new anti-depressant I'd rather just know that now. Answers to these types of questions seem to be quite hard to find on the net. If anyone has any input on this it would be much appreciated.
