Weird sensations, anyone elsehad this

Sorry me again, have been feeling a bit better over the weekend until today when sitting in a coffee shop I felt what can only be described as someone turning my organs around on the left hand side, it really flipped and felt like a baby moving around, not kicking but turning over. It happened twice and then stopped leaving me feeling a bit sore on the left. If I was younger and not 56 I would have been reaching for a pregancy test. I am going to see GP on Tuesday so will see what she say's. I am beginning to wonder if I have worms AAAAHHHH. Have to say this flare up is going on too long this time and the symptoms seem different too.

I have had so many weird things going on in my colon and intestines that I do would think I were pregnant or had a horrible stomach virus and it is not pleasant to be sure. Please keep us informed of your outcome at the docs office on Tuesday.

That does sound odd and unnerving. There are a few things internally that can cause that kind of sensation. You stated it was on your left side but I am curious if it was over the abdomen or the chest? If it was over the chest than perhaps it was an irregular heart beat. Some times the heart makes an early beat called a PVC (Premature Ventricular Complex). This often causes a fluttering sensation in the left to center chest area. Everyone describes it a little different but often there is sense of something not being right as your body forces you to stop and take note of the odd sensation. Also you noted you where in a coffee shop when this happened. Caffeine increased the chances of having PVC’s. If it happens again check your pulse to see if you can feel any changes or irregularities. Good luck at the doctor and hope it all turns out fine.

Hi thanks for replying. No it was not chest, it was to the left of belly button slightly lower and felt like a moving sensation rather than a flipping which I get with palpitations sometimes. I am sitting here now and my tummy is popping all over the place. I am wondering it is just gas. I have also noticed my urine is dark and smelly although no cistitis symptoms. Will ask GP next week and expect her to think I have gone mad.

The only thing I can think of is I mentioned a pill I take by its name brand. I have found I have a spastic colon and my diverticulus according to doc is not that bad. I cannot imagine it hurting any worse if it were bad. I got med for the Spastic colon and still everyone scratches head when it comes to the diverticulus.

Hi thanks for re-messaging, I do have confirmed diverticular and had a bad flare up several weeks ago, but the pain just seemed different this time, it may have been that I was sitting hunched up and the colon moved. Will ask GP tomorrow, Have a good day

I feel like there's a baby in there too. I have 3 children and it reminds me sometimes of early stages, when wombs expanding and you are in second trimester. Guess it's just swollen intestines pushing around.

Yes, it is really weird, As mentioned above I do sit rather hunched and perhaps my insides were a bit cramped. Let's hope today is a better one.

I get the same sensation too but on my right side just under my ribs..feels like something trying to push out from under my ribs.  I'm thinking it might be my liver.  I have NAFLD on top of the DIVI. I too sit squashed..lol

Hi what is NAFLD? sorry for being thick. I noticed it on right side today but not so bad, I hate this disease it causes so many strange symptoms. Am seeing GP tomorrow and will be asking for a GI referral as this has been going on too long. Take care

Hi All, well appointment at GP was less than satisfactory, was told when diagnosed that pain with divi is on left, GP today said pain in left is not usual with Divi pain should be on right. Basically told not sure what could be causing the pain, can be sent to a gastro specialist but doubt they will find anything. I am in agony, I have the most awful burning sensation at base of ribs, which goes across stomach to right side, worse when I eat, full of wind and stomach growling, but basically told to go away as I have had an ultrasound which shows nothing. Also pain obviously not too bad or else I would have gone to A&E. I have a really high pain threshold, but next time I will do just that. Really fed up now.

The pain depends on where the infection / inflammation us situated. In white people, majority have the pain on the left side. In Asian population it's more common to have it on the right. I'm white and I have it on the right side hence I was misdiagnosed with appendicitis. . It's how we are mapped out structurally that makes it left or right. It's most common to have diverticulitis in the sigmoid part of colon. But it can happen in the rest of the colon too. I personally think you had colic but by all means do see the specialist. Good luck and I hope you feel better now.

Sunni, have they checked if you have gallstones? It's situated underneath ribs on right and you normally will have pain after eating.

Hi yep no gallstones, no kidney stones, no liver problems. The only thing they have not done is stool test but GP won't do one as not sure it will show anything. GP is Asian so maybe that is why she said on right. Will google colic, pain still bad this morning. Thanks for replying have a good day
