Anyone take Citalopram for anxiety and depression any positive ,negativethoughts apreiciated,,smile

    i'm on citalopram - 6 weeks in now and feeling TONNES better. Side effects are hard to grasp for the first couple of weeks. Look after yourself in that time, eat well, rest etc.

    But after that the good days should gradually start rolling in!

    Are you doiung any therapy as well?

      No I don't think need therapy not in a way that it wouldn't help I can talk but I have nothing to get of my mind or that I'm worrying about holl do they make you like zombie or up I need something to boost me or pick up not a sedative good luck glad u found something that works I will. Mention this med when I can see a doc thanks

      They are comsidered a 'stimulating' SSRI - higher doses are prescribed for people with depression and low doses for anxiety (as the increase in energy can exacerbate anxiety!!)

    Nick,I think we have spoken before.Hello smile

    I started on Cit 10 weeks ago and it didn't work for me this time,,however I have used it twice before and it has been very successful.

    13 years ago I had a major breakdown,I was a mess. From the start of my treatment to feeling well it took about ten weeks.

    I was on other medication too and for weeks I honestly thought there was no point to these meda,I wasn't getting better. I was however and had 12 years more or less depression and anxiety free,a few little blips now and then but nothing major that I couldn't handle xx

    Diazipam for anxiety.

      Don't know why my post says diazepam for anxiety lol but yes while on citalopram all them years ago I was also on diazepam for anxiety x

      All you can do is give it a go. Give yourself the best chance to get better.

      Dont expect miracles right away...just give it a chance smile and if you are having trouble,side effects and whatever,remember that it's only temporary and we are all here to help you on your way xx

    I was put on 40mg. It did sweet FA other than work as an Anti-viagra!

      It was then changed to 5mg Diazepam
