The next stage after coping is contentment. Again you need to learn how to achieve this and be open to help. Once you have reached contentment you will find some measure of happiness. But no one is happy all the time you know - often it's little fleeting moments. Once you have this you can build on it to make your life better and do more of what you want to .
An example of this is I get a lot ofd pleasure from one of my hobbies - playing darts, so I play for a team 2/3 times a week. I look after my own needs to ensure I get enough of what I want in life as consolotion for the things I don't want to do which we all have to do. You need to have a balance. The things you enjoy make life worth living.

Remember your counsellor telling you you need to take care of your own needs? Well s/he is right. You need to learn how to do that rather than saying 'No one understands me'. And rather than calling yourself names. Once you realise they are right then you can take the first steps to starting to be happy. You won;t otherwise you know. There is unfortunately no magic wand to wave and you have got to participate in your own treatment no matter how difficult it is. No one can do it for you, they can help that's all. You need to understand that and start taking the help available. Bev xxx

We depressives mull over it constantly and obsess and decide to call ourselves names. Where you start to get better is to get some help. I don;t know if you are getting any but if you are persevere with it. xx
