"Acceptance "

Hello everyone, I have been dealing with new anxiety and panic for about 4 months now, and my panic comes from fear of dying, so all the sensations I feel obviously doesnt help that bc my mind plays tricks on me. I have had all my tests done and they are all fine, so I'm seeing a therapist and she has informed me that I need to "accept what I'm going through. Well I have worked in the ER forever and I know to much about things bc I have seen a lot of it, at this point my brain is refusing to accept that it's not something medical. if anyone can give me advice or things to try to accept what's happening I would be ever so greatful bc I'm struggling so bad with all this especially when night comes. Thanks so mucb!

Hi l know that it is difficult to accept these these physical symptoms are caused by anxiety as ànxiety feeds into your fears and your fear is death.Anxiety is a horrible disorder which can destroy your life if you feed into that fear. You work in the ER and l am perfectly sure you have dealt with a lot of people who are convinced they have different illnesses and all the tests are clear however they return multiple times as they suffer from health anxiety.I have nursed for a long time and l know that l suffer ànxiety as l have never fed into the fear that this is a physical illness. You must question your thoughts you have had tests done and they have been clear so the evidence is clear you have no physical illness.Work hard with your therapist and know you can overcome your fear.

Yea all that is true and man it is easier said then done that's for sure! Hahah my mind Is being put to the ultimate test with all this that's for sure! Thanks so much for the advice, I'm definitely going to try the evidence thing! From ur expirence, do the sensations last forever? And does sleep get any better after awhile? I have become an insomniac since all this started!

The symptoms will ease of when you learn to relax your mind. That takes a lot of practice and also when you stop fearing the sensations.Again it takes time.Insomnia can also be reduced by relaxation techniques.Go to You Tube and find meditation for insomnia.Practice nightly and this will help through time.

Hi Nat and Marleen.   For sure it is the only way to get rid of anxiety is to face the fear cos its the fear that is sending adrenaline around your body giving all the horrific physical symptoms . Who would have thought that your brain could do such a cruel thing ??? But it is true !! Of course putting it into practice is a different thing altogether but I am just beginning to follow  FREE CBT course that I found on the internet and holy moly I am beginning to see the results already. I am surprising myself, please try it.  Lily xx
