??failed anterior repair

Posted , 5 users are following.

I'm now nearly 14 weeks post op and the pressure I felt in the vulval area has gone to be replaced by constant pain, also feel like something has prolapsed again. I've rang the hospital and asked to see the doctor again and have an appointment 4th April, hopefully he can identify the problem

Sorry to hear this has happened. Repairs can fail, mine did although it seemed to happen quite slowly. Try not to do too much as it can take months to completely heal. Let us know how you get on with the doctor. X

Will do, unfortunately taking it easy won't be an option as I have to return to work in two weeks- dreading it

Hopefully this is after your check up? Don't go back too soon. I went back to my easy part-time sit down job after 4 weeks. This was a mistake (although I don't know what actually caused my to fail) I should have waited longer. I didn't know about this forum then.

Sincerely hope you have just overdone things and maybe taking it easy and resting may sort it out.

Maybe you need to look at getting some more time off before returning to work. Good luck with the consultants appointmenter.

      Please take care,

      Phyllis x💖

It will be after my appointment, I've already had 14 weeks off so unfortunately I have to go back, my job involves lots of heavy lifting so hopefully my consultant can give me some advice to take back to my manager 😊

      Thanks phyl

Definitely haven't been overdoing it, I've never been so lazy lol x

You might need something in writing to show your manager. Hopefully he/she will be understanding 🙂

You may have to ask for light duties if possible, your employer is responsible for due care!

I am now over a year post op and should really be in job with only light duties, but not so easy at almost 57yrs old to find something suitable.

So although employer does not have anything classed as light they have tried their best to accommodate me and I still can't be on my feet for too long or lift anything too heavy. Already been through two separate surgeries and had anterior dons twice so don't want any more at least until retirement age.

You still need to be careful in the long term.

      Hi phyl

There are no light duties in my department but there is a possibility he can transfer me to another area, 17 months until retirement and counting 😊

Glad to hear that you may have other options, and that's good that you have only 17 months until retirement.

      X?

Hi phyl,I'm still struggling love but keep positive thoughts high up in clouds.xxx

Yes ? , nothing else for it but too stay highly positive💕

I was cleaning out one of my big cuboards last week and lifted out a large weekender bag, thought there wasn't much in it, but pelvic floor thought otherwise, think I nearly damaged my repairs ( it just might have been spring cleaning that same cuboard last time that done it) anyway that's twice over last few weeks I've nearly caused damage ( out walking and went too far recently) so need to stop being complacent and start being careful again.

I think as time goes on I think 'I am almost back to normal' but then do something I think I can cope with only to find I can't.

Anyway just having to rest up a bit again and doing extra pelvic floor exercises. Working today and again tomorrow, then I'm off for 18 days, using up last of my winter holidays and taking 1st week of next year's. So have plenty time to recover.

      Probably safer at work 😅😅😅!

Hope you get a cancellation rather than having to wait till summer for your surgery; if you do get a cancellation at least it will be short notice and you won't get time to worry too much about it.

Keep busy and stay positive, we women are strong; think what we cope with throughout our life.

Spring is upon us and daffodils are dancing, sunny days are on the way and once this is all by it will be a time for healing! You are doing well and you'll get there in the end.

      Take care phyl x?💕
