"Flat" knee

Hi All - I am about 14 weeks post op now and walking better than before the operation, so it was a success.  I still get stiff and sore, hot from time to time, some swelling depending upon what I've been doing, and it constantly feels really heavy.  Live in a tri-level home so many steps up and down keeps me moving in that direction.  Walking about 1.5 miles daily and peddling the stationary bike.  But --- my question.  When sitting with knee bent normally I have a flat surface on the top of my knee/leg.  My other knee is rounded, but the surgical knee is flat.  Not sure it hurts anything, it's just weird.  Anyone else experience this?

No, never heard of that one before, however just consider what an asset it is - you will be able to keep your tray flat on your knee when you have tea by the fire while watching cricket at Headingley.

Wish I had a flat knee.

Yes mine is a little like that, again no pain but still very swollen.  I have a really complete TKR which includes a metal knee cap, and did wonder if that contributes to the different shaped knee??  You should have see the expression on my consultants face as I carefully explained the bruised feeling I had in my knee cap, I went on and on, finally he got a word in, when he said so politely, 'Interesting, metal knee cap has evolved to have feelings and get bruised!!  Much giggling from both of us!!!

Mine is flat and well rounded, lol. Not at all like the other one. I can't wait to get a matching one, then I'll be able to place a tray on it for sure.
