??? For those that catheterize intermittently

I've been intermittently catheterizing for about a year now. I've stayed close to home and work during this time because I haven't felt comfortable venturing out too far from private bathrooms. I had a few questions for those of you that have been doing CIC for a while and hope to learn from your experience. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer. I CIC about 4-5 times daily.

  1. Sex and CIC...do you use condoms with your partner? If not, do you experience UTI's? I seem to be very susceptible to UTI's since I started CIC and have been using them but I'm married and my wife and I don't enjoy them. Very worried about getting another UTI. My uro doesn't think it will be a problem?

  2. Traveling....I keep to private restrooms but I want to start traveling again. Can anyone offer some advice for dealing with CIC in airports and on airplanes. How do you manage? Any problems with bringing catheters through the TSA checkpoint. I'm TSA prechecked.

  3. Any suggestions on cases or other items you use to carry your catheters and supplies to keep things clean & discreet.
