??? HH

Hi there,
I wrote in a while ago explaining my symptoms etc.
I have now had my scans. Only things that showed up were 1) Small bulging disc & small polyps on my fall bladder... thank goodness.
Had my haematology appointment yesterday & had more bloods taken.
My Ferritin has gone from 628 to 522 & now 458
Transferrin saturation from 69 to now 52
ALT from 55 to 39 & now 40
Will have to wait fir the genetics to come back .
My question is ... does this sound like HH as my levels seem to be lowing very slowly?
Many thanks

Samantha, your other issues would be causing in increase in ferritin because of the inflammation involved. This would occur whether you had haemochromatosis or not. So that makes it look slow, although you don't say how long and now often you have been venesected.
I notice that your TS% has reduced which is unusually fast. This generally does not happen until your ferritin is almost <50. This could indicate you are reducing your HH ferritin but your inflammation ferritin makes it look high. But then again your TS% might go up again next blood test. There are no hard and fast rules about this. So do not fret if it does.
You have to be patient as there really is no consistency. A number of things going on in your body makes it change.

Many thanks for your reply.
I haven’t had any venesection yet as I’m waiting for the genetic blood results to come back to confirm if I have HH or not.
