[LONG] My anal fissure success story, this might be your cure!!

Im a 22 year old male, in shape, never been constipated, never been through anything like an anal fissure in my life, and never even realized how important it is to take care of yourself "down there". The week following thanksgiving of this year I held in my bowel, don't know why, didn't think much about it, I just didn't feel like going to the bathroom. Needless to say, all of that beef and ham and beans, and everything else just got harder and harder in my rectum/bowel, and little did I know that. I never thought about it before, always took my colon health and rectum for granted, never treated it with love and respect like my muscles, or my teeth, or my facial hair.

I decided to finally go one morning, I was so backed up I HAD to go, and what do ya know Im trying to have a baby out of my anus. This was the nightmare bathroom experience that started it all, I pushed and forced it out, I forced and forced and knew something was gonne be a little sore after but boy oh boy if I could go back in time and never have strained. I pushed out the hardest most impacted stool of my life, it would not change shape as it came out, I was in pain so much pain I thought i prolapsed my whole anus or something I was crying and screaming im sure my neighbors heard me, I sitting here with only half of this thing out so far and I have to keep going but it wont go anymore its too painful, [GRAPHIC PART] while screaming I took some tp and used that to cover my hand as i stood up and pulled this thing out. Crying actually crying for the first time in i dont know how many years. My anus was hurting it was so bad, i flushed, and hopped in the shower thank god there were clean towels already in there, I took a long shower trying to make it through the pain. My anal muscles were like spasming like a violent charlie horse in my upper anus. I'd rather break both my arms than go through that pain again if given the choice, how could a thing hurt so much dear god. 

After the incident I pretty much stopped eating for 2 days, no lie, for 2 days following this I ate nothing. I was NOT going to the bathroom again, was not, noone was going to force me to. I dont care how much of my precious muscle mass I was gonna lose from starving my body for a few days, nothing was coming out of there I could not bare that pain again, I never was so certain about not doing something in my life. But there was no deciding or negotiating, I was not eating food (though i drank plenty water). I basically did a water fast. 

HERES THE PART WHERE I TELL YOU HOW I HEALED, FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO SKIP MY BACKGROUND STORY:

I know many of you have varying degrees of anal fissures, after sitting in bed depressed and fearful of using the bathrooom again, I found myself spending hours upon hours reading about what was going on with me and learning about this part of life that I never knew could happen to me, or even existed. Alot of you use stool softeners and continue using the bathroom, alot of you even continued eating meat products (meat and cheese form the hardest stools for those who do not know this), you people are strong. What I actually did was a 2 day water fast, then a period of 3 days of taking a 500mg vitamin C tablet, a 10,000 IU vitamin A tablet, in a tablespoon of coconut oil (you need fatty acids to absorb vitamin A). NO FOOD. 

Three things: 1. FASTING allows for maximum healing benefits, no doctor is gonna tell you to fast but google this, youtube this, I only know this from somewhat being into bodybuilding, but fasting is completely safe if you drink WATER. Not only does fasting allow the body to heal exponentially faster by being able to focus on things other than digesting foods, such as repairing tissue, it also increases your HGH hormone (Human Growth Hormone) by nearly 800-1000% look these things up I am not lying to you i want to help you make it through this nightmare.

Number 2. Vitamins A and C are extremely useful, morese than any ointment or cream, that you will apply to yourself, and be further irritating your healing wound anyways. Vitamin C promotes rapid collagen formation and collagen is what your body is making as it heals a wound. Again, go on youtube and type in "wound healing" and look at the educational college videos that explain wound healing, for those who are skeptical of all of this. And vitamin A is equally as important as C, because vitamin A promotes the rapid rebuilding of epithelial tissue, or "skin", and what you tore open is skin, its actually called stratified squamous epithelial tissue, which is the type of skin that lines your rectum and anal canal.

Number 3. Stop using the bathroom. I know you feel like you have to eat every single day or you're gonna flip over and croak, no, trust me on this, fasting is the best thing you can do for your colon and your anal fissure right now. Research fasting its not a fad diet, its not a crazy thing that crazy people do, its a beneficial thing that people are afraid to do, When animals get sick they stop eating, this is a natural instinct that helps their bodys recover from their problems exponentially faster. 

Listen to me, trust me, I healed myself in 7 days doing this now im back to normal eating healthy using the bathroom with absolutely NO PAIN or discomfort as fast as I thought id never be the same again. I only lost 3 pounds of mostly water weight and no I didnt die, do this 5 day water fast with nothing but vitamins, any multivitamin with A and C, but I took specifically A and C vitamins and you must take the C with water and follow it with the A with a TBSP of some kind of fatty oil. Its true that a healthy adult doesn't need vitamin supplements if they are eating healthy foods but you will not be eating right now. This will cure you faster in days than any progress youd make constantly irritating your wound over the course of weeks trying to heal while constant passing your "soft stools" with the fiber diet and stool softeners. 

TL;DR: I am me again, fissure free, went from crying whenever i had the thought of using the bathroom in my head, to loving using the bathroom because its painfree now and Im fully healed. What i did was a 5 day water fast after my last BM, once there was nothing inside my rectum, (do not hold in BM get it out and let the healing begin). Do what i did please, your anal skin heals so easily and quickly, let your body do its job, stop eating, stop stressing out, YOU WILL BE OK, drink only water, only five days of this for a lifetime of pain free living. Take the vitamins before the drugs, A and C SPECIFICALLY, vitamins work better than any drug for healing your body. I was you, I was confused and depressed and afraid, but it will be ok, you will heal. Stop eating, stop contracting your muscles and trying to pass stools. Listen to me please.     Hi Crisler, You went through a very bad time, but glad it is now overwith and you're feeling human again.  You had one good thing going for you; you are still very young.  I believe the body does not always heal as fast when one is older.  I'm heald  since having surgery back in May of this year 2014.  Thank you for the good tips, this should help others who are still suffering.  Until one has gone throught the agony of fissures, no one can appreciate the horror of what it's like.Thanks for your posting.

    Hi crisler! Thank you for sharing your experience and sharing your tips on how to cure anal fissure.

    I feel a little better now knowing that I'm not the only one who suffers or been through with this kind of experience. 

    I am 32 years old and before I never had a problem with bowel movement coz I always go smoothly and the stool is not either loose or hard but lately it has been hard and couple of weeks ago I feel some pain in my rectum every time I have to go and a blood came out. I am the kind of person who makes a self - care instead of going to the doctor immediately.  That is why sometimes I overthink, I get too worried and depressed and stressed thinking about some things I found out about my body or illness. 

    Anyway there are some theories that I thought why I had this an anal fissure... 

    1. I've been trying to bulk up and build muscles and so I have to meet the required protein and I realized lately I've been eating meat and forgot to eat fruits and vegetables. 

    2. I started taking a high blood pressure meds and one of the side effects Is hard and dark stools

    3. It's a personal thing I don't want to share. That stays in the bedroom. Lol.

    So I checked in the mirror and I can see a skin tear. I started using water and soap after BM instead of toilet paper. And i started using Tucks too, the medicated pad. But I notice after I use that it stings. But the pain and the sting disappears in a couple minutes.  The pain that I have is tolerable but I can't have this for a long time. It just bothers me.

    Regarding the tip you shared like not going to the bathroom and do BM and  to avoid that we should not eat a lot of not to eat at all, I'm open to that suggestion... I realized that just like any wounds it will heal if you let It dry til the scab will appear and cover it but every time you go BM it will get wet and open up again. So it will take a long time to heal again. As well as using stool softeners and eating more fiber. 

    It's just hard for this kind of wound coz it's inside, you can't avoid getting it wet and u can't just apply antibiotic and cover with bandages. 

    For now I'm using soap and warm water to clean it up and apply the medicated pads. I'll try to do the zits baths whenever I can, it's no hard coz I have no tub in apt so I have to buy a large basin and sit on it. Then I'll try not do BM as much as possible and build doing that not to eat too much...

      I wish you the best of luck man. I know its uncomfortable the idea of fasting for most people but the pain I went through the first night I was certain I was not going through again, thats what pushed me through a few days of fasting and the next time I ate which was high fiber fruit, and went through me in about 24 hours, was good ole pain free bathroom visit.

      I took this as a life lesson on why its important to eat healthy. I was so nervous going to the toilet again like a post traumatic type thing but after my vitamin and water fast, and new found respect for my colon and butt, lol, I was able to use the bathroom and walk out smiling, not only just because there was no pain, but because I became a new me. My life changed for the better I am confident that I will live a healthy lifestyle easily now, no more living off only bacon, cheeseburgers, and pop tarts. I even feel healthier these days, nothing better than living off of real foods with nutrients inside, only an occasional chicken breast or piece of fish. Im rambling man lol but good luck, vitamins are your friend, and dont forget to stay hydrated its vital for healing.

      I'm glad you're doing ok now man!!! I hope I will too. I'm just paranoid and over thinking that this might take a long time. I really pray it wouldnt. 

      When it comes to eating healthy, I am eating healthy, I think. Well, not 100% but I don't eat junk foods either.  I think I'm just eating too much meat lately coz I needed to meet my required protein intake. Aside from meat, I drink whey protein before and after work out and eat protein bars in between. 

      I'm just worried about this. I hope it will not get worst and praying it doesn't need a surgery or something drastic... 

      In the meantime I'll just do whatever home remedies I can and it if it's not working and getting worst then it's time to seek professional help..m

      Hey sorry that might have been confusing. What I was saying is that I specifically bought a vit A and a vit C supplement because those are the vitamins most useful for aiding the healing of scarred tissues. But any multivitamin that contains vitamin A and C will work too, you don't have to exclusively take those two like I did.

      Also what I was saying is if you want vitamin A to actually help you, you need to take it with fat in your stomach so taking your multivitamin with a meal with atleast 3g of fat minimum should help, and if you're cooking a food for its vitamin A such as sweet potatos or carrots or kale which are all vitamin A superfoods, dont candy the yams or use any butter or fats while cooking because the vitamins will actually leave the starch or veggie with only trace amounts of vitamins left because they will all be in the butter in the pot lol.

      Protip: If you are strong enough to continue eating daily I suggest you incorporate these two foods they will help you alot. Baked sweet potatos, then after cooking, split it and butter it so you have your fats with the vitamin A and eat up. Its a nice nutritious fibrous food that will be easy to pass when you use the bathroom. One baked sweet potatoo has 400-600% of your daily vitamin A needs so a few times a week eat a baked sweeeet potato.

      The other is drink apple juice fortified with vit C, a real juice with fiber, if it doesnt have fiber, its not real apple juice. The juice will help keep your bowel soft and also deliver you a little bit of vitamin C as well, much better source than citrus, avoid acidic beverages if possible. That will irritate your GI tract even more, stay away from orange juice!

      "vitamin A Carotenoids are absorbed better from vegetables when they are cooked or homogenized and served with some fat (eg, oils)." Just adding a few of my sources since Im saying so many things without linking any sources lol. But last tip with vitamins A you must consume fat with it or you will not absorb anything you will pee it right out, vitamin C you have no worry its one of the water soluble vitamins just drink atleast half a cup of water with the rest of your vitamins such as C.

    Hey crisler.i am glad that u healed your anal fissure.but i wouldnt suggest fasting as a way to go about it because you eventually have to eat and when you do pass a stool after that the fissure will relapse cuz that stool will be hard after being stored in the bowel for so long.eat but eat nutritious and never stop the urge to defeacate.it takes a while for the fissure to start healing but when it does it will be a much more permenant effect. smile smile

      Hey thanks. Also I think you're misunderstanding what I wa trying to say. Not everyone is mentally able to water fast (consuming only water), but fast if you can because for anal fissures, unless you have a severe blood flow problem due to a disease or muscle problem, fasting will aid your recovery tenfold. But you must pass your last stool, clear your rectum. Never hold in your stool, use the bathroom and get everything out of you, most people pass stools 24-30 hours after eating, so a day after your last meal you should be passing your last stool given you drink water and don't eat a diet of nothing but milk and cheeseburgers. If you can go two more days, which is absolutely not dangerous unless you are very underweight, then that means a minimum of 36-48 hours of no passing stool. That 48 hours will be as good or better than a week of passing stools daily while healing the wound. 

      The doctor told me that it would take 1-2 weeks to fully heal the skin in there, but Im glad to say that after 5 days I was back to normal, and it would have been longer had I not given the wound and the muscles (sphincter muscles) time off from stretching and coming into contact with material. I fully agree with you eat nutritious and never hold in the urge to go, I live by those rules religiously these days, and I am completely back to normal 3 weeks later with no discomfort/pain/fear or even thoughts of the pain I had to endure anymore.
