.....on a personal note

Just thought I'd tell many of you folks that aside from all the important information I glean from tbis forum, maybe most of all I appreciate of YOU! It's so great knowing there's a place you can come to, to ask, to receive, and just to BE! I'm only sorry I can't meet some of you wonderful folks in person. Thinking of you all....Lynda

Lynda, I've not been here long enough to deserve those kind words, but they were so nice to read.  My heart feels the same about all the members of this group.  It is helpful to read the ideas, to hang on to the hope.

This is such a tough road and knowing there is a safe place is a blessing.  Today was a bad day and I'm feeling rather emotional. (Prednisone tears?)  It was nice reading your note.

My best thoughts to you.  It sure takes a team to navigate this disease. It does.

    Blessings,  MariGrace

MariGrace, it's been a very bad and emotional day for me as well, in fact, at the risk of sounding a bit dramatic, I've literally got tears rolling down my cheeks as I type this.😢 I think that's why I decided to type my post! With all the insanity, all the ugliness going on in this world right now, ( especially in my neck of the woods with a certain "unnamed President" ???), I think we need to thank folks who care....I DO!

I just went  away on holiday for a couple of months with a friend who has similar health problems. It was wonderful. An unexpected bonus was we saw NO NEWS. We stay in cheap places, no TV's. We had phones only for emergencies. We were in Asia. Very few people spoke English.. It was great. Now that I am back home I am trying to wean myself off the world news. I am obsessed with it.  Reality is, I can't change it. Billy Connolly, the Scottish comedian did a great skit about this. I must go find it again and change my habits..

LOL, lol.... I completely understand what you're sayin' about the news! Unfortunately, I've become a news "junkie" the past few years. Didn't used to be, but since the changing of the guard in my country a few years ago, I've almost HAD to become one! Things change (quite literally) hour to hour. No wonder my neck always aches from the whiplash I incur on a daily basis while trying to keep up!😱😁😠.

Hi Lynda, hope you are feeling better, this friend of ours pmr does get us all down at times, some cope better than others, when I first stated with it I was in a turn oil as even my doctors did not know how to manage it, as far as I know I am the only one in our practice with it.

i am having to have another cat scan because the nodule on my lungs is growing bigger so my fingers are crossed its nothing scary , take care 😔

By the way your words cheered me up, yes we have great folks on here who help and cheer us up when we are all down

I have an answer to that - don’t turn on the news or read the newspapers!!  What is the point of worrying about the things we can’t influence or change?  If people around me start on these topics, I “switch off”.  We have enough problems worrying about ourselves without the troubles in the world.

I wish you all the best and send you virtual hugs.  Be kind to yourself!  💐💐

That did make me smile as there are places in Scotland where we have been with no tv and no mobile phone signal. Bliss.

I'm a news junkie, too, unlike my sister who gets her husband to tell her anything he thinks she ought to know (!!) and only reads her emails once a week. I'm beginning to wonder if she doesn't have the right idea.

Three cheers for the Archbishop of Canterbury ( the Ch. of  Eng. chief exec. ) who had a lot to say this week about the vermin that run the world as their own private fiefdom ( my words but his thought).

I was greatly amused (I think) by the complaints he was being hypocrite about Amazon as the CofE has shares in its portfolio. No-one wanted to have heard him say that it is THE SYSTEM that allows tax avoidance that is wrong. Though to be fair, Sky News did include that bit in their clip.

I agree Charles! Sometimes we just all need to take a breath and just love on each other! We're living in very trying (if not insane) times, while trying to deal with a crummy set of circumstances! Hugs to everyone.

How sweet Lynda, and so true! What would we all do without everyone on this group. Whereas we may be lucky enough to get understanding from our families, only someone with PMR can really understand it, not to mind the ongoing struggle with pred! Be good to yourself💟

Lots to echo from this great post Lynda, the spirit and insight from those on this forum are certainly a great combination...and only being a few weeks into this PMR journey I have had the benefit from learning from you all and let me tell you how valuable that has been...keep smiling smile
