*Pics* Possible Herpes or Something Other?

I am a 20 year old male, and I am wondering if this could be a possible case of herpes or something other. I noticed these small bumps last night while shaving. I had no idea what they could be and decided to investigate.

Aside from their appearance, they are completely painless, and the surrounding area as you can see is not red, cracked, or irritated. There is no individual feel to the bumps and cannot be differentiated from the smooth skin surrounding upon a touch. I am not experiencing any of the "flu-like" symptoms commonly known for herpes either or any occuring pain. I had scratched one or two, with alcohol and soap readily available, and noticed that it was 50/50 blood and clear fluid. The bumps are all less than 2mm in diameter and appear quite sporadically aside from the one cluster of about 7.

The last time I had sex was about 10 days before the discovery, and condoms were used. This was the 6th person I had sex with in my life, and each time protection was used.

I am wondering your thoughts on what this could be and plan to get tested anyway soon.

Thank you.

It is possibke, but only way to be sure is to get tested....mine didn't have fluid or crust over so I thought it was folliculitis. But everyone's body starts off different don't scratch that will probably make them worse and because they are bleeding is not good. Make sure whenever you touch to wash your hands. Make sure you make that doc appointment asap

Yes, I'm totally in suspense until Monday for a physical. Thank you so much for replying. I made this in a rush and thought I wouldn't get much.

Herpes lesions are usually sore to the touch, plus if a first outbreak from recent infection, you would expect these to be on the head/shaft (if from unprotected sex or oral) or base (if from protected sex), where the virus gained entry via skin-to-skin contact.

Your bumps do not hurt, not even after breaking a couple, and they appear to be located in the pubic hair region, so it seems less likely that it's herpes. Best thing, though, is to obviously get it looked at and swabbed for herpes asap (test accuracy diminishes the longer the lesions are present).

Thank you, Feliz. It is mostly in the upper pubic region and I was also befuddled as to why it would appear there if it were an STD.

I will get checked out on Monday hopefully, and will provide better updates then.

Good News - It's not herpes! It's Molluscum Contagiosum.

It has been a long 7 days. On Monday of this week I got a visual from the Doc. Seeing that it had already been 4 days, the lesions weren't changing at all, and I was having none of the symptoms known to Herpes. He said that it is unlikely to be Herpes and more likely to be Molluscum Contagiosum - no redness or pain either which crossed out Folliculitis. He referred me to a location where I could be tested for sure, as he didn't have the equipment to do so.

Aside from Monday, I work and could not call more days off. So I looked into remedies for MC, hoping that it would indeed be it. I was referred to the use of Apple Cider Vinegar and Tea Tree Oil. So far, I have done this for two nights and have achieved great results.

Thanks for the update! Yeah, it didn't seem like herpes, but they look smaller than how I thought MC typically looks. But if that's what they are, then I guess they can vary. Good to know for future reference, cheers! And a relief of sorts, I'm sure.

Day 1 before any treatment is on the Left. I had simply applied a tbsp of raw, unfiltered, Apple Cider Vinegar to a small paper towel sheet and applied to the main area overnight with tape, leaving periperhal areas alone like by the base of the penis to experiment for effect. I had also ingested 2 tbsps of Apple Vinegar in hopes it would help.

Day 2 is the Middle picture. As you can see, the spots began turning black in those few hours and begun scabbing. As well, you can also see that the spots outside of the area maintained no change. It was indeed the ACV having this diminishing effect. On this day, I also did a wipe of tea tree oil and alcohol - but I'm not sure if it aids or not.

Day 3 is on the Right, and is most current to what it looks like now. The spots are really becoming blackened now from the scabbing, in line with my odious research on how MC would react to ACV. I am personally expecting this to clear up, at this rate, within the next 7 days. I hope this is a help to anyone currently or future-wise in my position.
