\"Time Out\"

Posted , 10 users are following.

Hi All,

I have decided to take some 'time out' from the forum as I have recently found it so upsetting at times as to have made me feel ill - which I don't need. I will check in now and then just to see if there is news of Carole as she is a dear friend. Jacee, as my 'best friend' (no hurt meant to others, but we joined at same time and have built up a good relationship) I will contact you weekly or similar by PM so as to keep in touch. Take care all,

Lots of Love, Vanessa x

eddy... responded to robert, in a friendly manner, to keep his original profile name as anybody not registered can post dodgy stuff etc. as a guest...threads have been destroyed and totally deleted as a consequence of such activity...eddy mentioned a particular name which anybody can use.....ie...if I come on as fred bloggs guest...and stir up genuine people to respond with questions as to ulterior motives.... thread can be and has been destroyed

Hi eddy, lovely to hear from you. Glad there are some males around as I know you like to chat to a man, though I can't think why!! Your right to point out the dangers of unregistered posting. I think it is much better when we each know who we are talking to, even if that is a nickname, but I am probably a little old fashioned. However, registering also means you take responsibility for your posts and can be barred from the site should you cause trouble.

As far as deleted posts go, there seem to have been an awful lot lately, not just posts but entire threads have disappeared, like the one I initiated asking for IT help and advice. I was completely unable to work out what was wrong with that one.

Lots of people on here have been unsettled lately and I was angry that Vanessa had been upset and felt ill because of it. However, until the site feels safe again, I can only suggest that people are careful which posts they respond to, to try and prevent the upsurge in feelings which results from hurtful comments.

    Greets to all

I think the only reason why comments or posts get removed are when people are not communicating in a kind and friendly manner. That is the only reason I believe. Of course persistence in bringing unkindly comment is not going to achieve a pleasant environment for any one and will mean more problems for the forum, I'm sure non of us want that.

The forum can only be helpful to people if people are helpful in a kind and caring manner. I don't think anyone bringing any bad feeling onto the forum is going to achieve that.

I agree with all you have said jacee & vanessa, you were right to question why posts were being deleted, things were going pear shaped even before I got involved in trying to find the reasons why this was happening, all very strange.

Things have since changed as you are aware and admin are also now aware of suchlike, so hopefully [u:121f17e100][b:121f17e100]everybody [/b:121f17e100][/u:121f17e100]can discuss with honesty and good intent in future

    Post subject: Help

    Re: [b:6644d3cf15]

I have several messages in my outbox (PMs) which have not been sent. Some are new but some have been there for months. What can I do to send them? [/b:6644d3cf15]

Your posting was alerted automaticallly because www was written within the message - it has since been deleted but I will reply to this for you.

We believe that if a PM is still in your outbox it has not reached the recipient. You can either send another PM or just contact them by email but everyone should check their profile to confirm it is the right email address listed.

Please trying PMing this account and I can check to see if I receive them.

I will also PM this message.

    Many thanks

Hello everyone - me again smile

I am just letting you know that Eddys post on Friday was alerted for our attention and not deleted - just hidden until we can check it out. It has since been deleted however, but it was thought that the message could have been relayed as a PM or via email thats all. I have contacted Eddy.

This medical topic and in particular this thread is checked regularly, and if anyone disagrees with any postings made, anyone can alert the posting for what any reason. It will be our descision to choose whether to delete or release back into the system. If we delete the posting we will contact the member where possible as to why (if not obvious) we chose to delete.

We hope you can continue to enjoy the forum and I know everyone appreciates all the help you give to each other, many thanks

Hello EMIS Moderator. I have sent you two replies via PM (about 2 hours ago) but they are sitting in my out box, not my sent box. Have you seen them? Or do I need to include a web address to reach you again?

    Hello Jacee

All your PMs were received, thank you. You should notice that the messages started out in your outbox and then once I read them they should have moved to your sent box.

Please email us or PM the moderators should you require further information - they will be picked up as soon as we are able to do so.

    Many thanks
