‘Reactive’ Syphilis Result

hi everyone i've just received results from a self-test STI kit and the Syphilis one came back as 'reactive' so i need to go to the clinic for a more enhanced test.

Has anyone had this result before and is it likely to be positive?

I've had a lesion on the side of my tongue for a few weeks and I’m due to have a biopsy of it next week, so when I got the syphilis result earlier, in a way it put my mind at ease a little as the issue might not be as serious as I was expecting. Just wondered if 'reactive' turns out to be positive really, thanks

    Reactive means positive. If you're having a lesion o your tongue, then it goes to an extent confirming it but that's not final. Go get tested and help as quickly as you can, if it is Syphilis then an early treatment would help.

    mate, this is a relief finding out!!! you have a cureable infection. get your arse to the doctors and start your treatment now!!!
