I have just discovered some new (to me) exercise videos, and supporting documentation by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

I have put a link on my website in the"Online Resources" and "Early Recovery" pages.

I just bookmarked your site and the Hampshire link. I must say, the info in the UK on THR is far superior to the North American websites; I observed that almost immediately after my surgery. And, Graham, thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul for your dedication to helping others. What an amazing community.

No problem at all. Β We do seem to have some very good information providers over here, so lucky.

I had a chat with people at work today, and have put off the return to 'the salt mine' until Friday 1st April, but after that, my input will be very limited, but the website will continue.

I have my new THR Tee Shirt for my return, so that should make a good talking point for those who haven't seen me around the office for what will be over 5 months.

I needed to do something whilst I was recovering, so the idea of the website was born, and I think it helped me keep my sanity at times, as did this forum, and learning about the awful things that others around the world are going through.

Hi Rocketman, how long did you have off work? I work for a butcher running the deli dept. Underfoot is cold concrete, greasy and only a 3ft wide serving area that 2 people spend their time both serving and passing each other all the time, so lots of twisting and turning from the hips. My boss thinks l will be back at work in 6 weeks. My surgeon visit isn't till 6 weeks, so how long in your opinion can l expect to be off, l have no intention of going back before happy with my personal safety.

warm welcome to the hippies forum ...

Whoa, that seems a bit early to go back to work and personally, I would wait until I Β have seen my surgeon ..

In order to get more responses, please start your own discussion as this thread is old -

As Renee says, see what the surgeon says.   Let him know what you do, and the twisting you have to do.

My circumstances were different, I had to have revision 10 weeks after the THR due to surgical and hospital errors.

In all I had 5 months off work, then a month-long phased return to work - I have a 2 hour commute in to the centre of London.
