VINEGAR, VINEGAR AND MORE VINEGAR!!! You don't need to pay money to get rid of these things!! Listen up people, if you want to see quicker results just use vinegar to get rid of your awful warts or veruca/s!! Get either white wine vinear or apple cider vinegar, cotton wool balls and some duck tape. Break the cotton wool into smaller pieces (slightly larger than the veruca or wart itself) Soak these cotton wool pieces in vinegar and place directly over the veruca/s. Secure in place over night with plenty of duck tape. Do this every night. In the morning, remove the tape and shower as usual. Let the area dry up during the day and leave alone. After only a few days you will feel slight tenderness in the veruca area and you will notice that it changes colour, becoming darker. I think that this is because the veruca has absorbed the vinegar and the flesh is decaying and drying up. This is the only thing that has helped me with mine. Don't waste money on over the counter products-its a waste!! Don't have them cut out or frozen or lazered-off until youhave tried this for at least 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure this will be the most effective thing you've tried! And easy and natural and cheap. Try it!! Good luck!!! xoxox :ok:

Katharine81627- it will be painful. i couldn't walk for 2 days. but mine is sooooo much smaller now. its not all gone yet. i take a break every 1-2 days so its not too painful. I also think the more you take away the black roots is when its hurts the most, (does for me anyway). good luck

antigone33162- if its too painful then yes take it off, sounds like your doing your best.

Mine stung for couple days, must have started in time as all clear now. Very cheap treatment.

Okay i started this treatment about a month ago, at first i defiantly noticed a difference. every morning i would take the tape off and file the soft skin away, but after a few weeks it got very painful and i had to stop.

i must say i forgot about it for almost a week and by then the skin looked like it had healed up. it wasn't until i started with the vinegar that i realized i still had the black bits under the skin, which must have come back.

im rather impatient, and i hate pain so i wanted to know from people who have had success with this how long it takes. and if they used a file on theirs? am i doing this treatment right?

i just seems like im getting no where, there's noting i can do with them when they're really tender as everything hurts too much sad how do they finally go? is it through using a file/cutting the black bits out? or does it dry up and go on its own??

well i had to stop this a while ago due to school runs and travelling to uni but its half term so im trying again. basically had it on constantly since sunday night. replacing it in the morning... no black bits appearing yet even though they did last time. does anyone know why this is? they are still there are the infected tissue is white while my healthy skin is staying pink.

am i doing something wrong this time? just put a soaked cotton wool ball on the area and plastered it up with duct tape and elastoplast.

Damn I can't believe I've only found about this now. I've been suffering from bad verruccas for years. Looking at how many millions of dollars of vinegar gets sold every year and I still knew nothing about its healing properties.

I'm going to give it a try. My wife is actually a big believer in alternative remedies and hates going to doctors. So hopefully I'll have some good news for her after trying the vinegar for a few days.

Hello again. Well I'm sad to say that my verrucca is still with me! I started on the 10th of September and although I aven't been doing it every day and night I have persisted. It has been at times agony when I think it effects the nerve as the pain shoots up my leg and my foot spasms. Other times it's not so bad. The last 3 days I've been attacking it, putting the pad on all day and a fresh one all night. I've also been filing it down every day. But it's still there!!! It's been about 6 weeks now and it's just as bad as when I started. The black bits just keep coming! Any advise gratefully received.

We'll I'm still going with this.

The black bits are getting less, but when I file away every few days the skin is white and hard underneath.

Does that mean the root is still there? I'm not totally sure what I'm looking for really!

Daisy wells - oh I'm glad I'm not the only one. I really thought I was doing something wrong!

I've been on it now for about 4 weeks and really hoped it would be all clear now but guess not...

Is there anything else I should be doing?

@katharine81627 well i have had to stop again. not because of pain but because come monday i will be back at uni. i started again with the vinegar on sunday and changed the vinegar dressing everyday so it was fresh and just as potent. i managed 3 and a half days before i had to stop dues to commitments but i kept it duct taped up until this evening. just took away the dead skin that had soaked up the vinegar. i didnt notice much black but when the skin came away something else came away too... it was infected skin no doubt! it pulled away in a clump and was quite spongy (sorry if anyone is eating!) but i think this may have been one of the beasts! still loads to go though but it did look like infected tissue was coming away and not my healthy skin.

i dont think we are doing anything wrong... the beasts are soaking up the vinegar they must just be very deep.

I have had a wort on my ring finger for about 3 months now. I tried off the shelf freezing but it came back bigger.

Then I found this thread and have been trying Aspall Cyder Vinegar on a bit of cotton wool, duct taped to my finger 24/7 since 5 days ago. I change the dressing twice a day.

The result is the following photo: http://goo.gl/zH4Jfv

Does it look like it's working please?

An hour later and after peeling off the top (which came off really really easily), it now looks like this http://goo.gl/HVNgjU

I think the wart has now gone! Should I continue to use vinegar and duct tape after it's dried out a little? Or leave it a few days?

@daisywells - oh that's fab news that you seem to have got the root out, you must be chuffed!!

We'll I have continued with the vinegar every night after having a shower, then taking it off in the morning and getting on with my day.. I don't file it every night, maybe once every 3.. Last night I filed away the few black dots I had, and again there was this white hard patch, almost like a painful pin head that won't budge..

I left the vinegar off last night as I find if I put it on after filing the pAin is horrendous.

The skin seemed a lot clearer today but back on the vinegar again tonight, just wish this hard patch would shift, as I'm hoping this is the root!
