VINEGAR, VINEGAR AND MORE VINEGAR!!! You don't need to pay money to get rid of these things!! Listen up people, if you want to see quicker results just use vinegar to get rid of your awful warts or veruca/s!! Get either white wine vinear or apple cider vinegar, cotton wool balls and some duck tape. Break the cotton wool into smaller pieces (slightly larger than the veruca or wart itself) Soak these cotton wool pieces in vinegar and place directly over the veruca/s. Secure in place over night with plenty of duck tape. Do this every night. In the morning, remove the tape and shower as usual. Let the area dry up during the day and leave alone. After only a few days you will feel slight tenderness in the veruca area and you will notice that it changes colour, becoming darker. I think that this is because the veruca has absorbed the vinegar and the flesh is decaying and drying up. This is the only thing that has helped me with mine. Don't waste money on over the counter products-its a waste!! Don't have them cut out or frozen or lazered-off until youhave tried this for at least 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure this will be the most effective thing you've tried! And easy and natural and cheap. Try it!! Good luck!!! xoxox :ok:

As for the veruccas after trying f***ing eveything to get rid of them and nothing working I tried the vinegar as they had already worked on my hands. After 2.5-3 weeks of the treatment each night some of them have gone black but none have really shrunk or gone and I think I'm going to try freezing them again (my Mum is a GP and so has easy access to the equipment thankfully) any thoughts why this hasnt worked on my feet after the success on this website and my hands?
Thanks guys James x

Does rubbing a potato on the wart work? My dermatologist recommended that. Haven't tried it yet.

I shall repost in about a week or so, to update whether they've improved or gone.

I've only just heard of Verrucas now...calling them "plantar warts" gave me only search results for that and never brought me here! Now, after trying everything, like everyone else here, I'm trying this (ACV). I tried white vinegar once but not with the same results. I've been doing the ACV treatment for about 2 weeks for one on the ball of my foot that is so deep, it affects the nerves in my toes sometimes (just tingly sensation).
I soak a piece of cotton with ACV and put it on with bandaids (plasters?) overnight and take it off in the morning, When the pain is unbearable, I give myself a night off. I pare it down in the morning, still have the black spot (root) inside. I can't imagine pulling the root out as I'm certain it's fairly deep from walking (alot) on it over these years.
I've been fighting with mine for 30+ years! Got mine when I was 18 and tried a myriad of over the counter things, freezing, duct tape, 35% Hydrogen peroxide, etc, etc....I agree with those here who are amazed at the results using ACV....it certainly IS doing something....yes it DOES HURT but I will carry on with it and report back. I won't be digging much, though, since it's WAY too sensitive and, I'm sure, VERY deep. I'll just keep at it as long as I can stand it and until something happens (like healing, root apparently coming out, etc.)
Lots of good advice in this long interesting thread....check it ALL out!
And...GOOD LUCK!! Stay the course!!

....buy a pair of foam insoles (as thick as will fit in your shoe with your foot) so you can carve out a divot in the insole where your ACV-affected verucca is. I actually made my own insole from a piece of craft-foam. I cut my insole to properly fit.
In order to mark out where to carve the divot, I carefully painted my verruca with lipstick, carefully placed my bare foot inside the shoe with my new insole and gently pressed down onto the insole to make a lipstick print. Carefully take out your foot so as not to smear the print. Take out the insole and carve out a hole where your sore verruca is. The insole should stay in place better than a corn ring would.
I find this helps take the pressure of the painful, healing verruca.

Anyway this was briliant for my daughter but in between all this I aquired a wart on my middle finger which has been an awkward bugger for over a year. I've tried the counter freezing method 3 times now to no avail :-( I've tried banana skins and all that has happened is that the wart has become angry, swollen and painful so much that I can't even use that finger for anything at the moment.
So I began the cider apple vinegar treatment yesterday, it's caused a heck of a lot of throbbing but its not unbearable and today I have noticed the black spot rising to the surface :-D progress is all I needed to keep the faith. It hurts like hell at the moment but I will continue every day until I have killed this horrible, horrible virus. I just wish I'd have known about this when I was 14 and had verrucas all over my feet, I couldn't walk and had to have them forcefully removed which has caused scarring and tenderness in that area.
Have faith and be persistant and we will win the wart war!!
I will continue to update my progress as it occurrs Good luck everyone xxx

i wasnt sure at first but the skin seems to be healing ok. what i did worked! YES apple cider vinegar IS the way forward! i thought id leave an update only after the skin is healed normally so here you go.
YES at times it was painful but it was a lot bearable than anything else ive ever tried (see previous posts)
so yea. for me a few days with a vinegar soaked cotton ball duct taped to the area and secured with medical tape. the a few days with just duct tape and medical tape. then scrape away dead skin. and repeat. thats all i did!

I spent the first two days just using the cotton wool balls soaked in ACV tapped to my foot. On day three, they had turned black and I went at them with tweezers, I got most of it out (caused a little bleeding with my enthusiasm) and replaced the ACV soaked cotton wool balls.
I then changed the cotton wall balls and tape each morning and night, using a ped egg type product to rub down each time. On day four it became very painful to walk, but I persevered with it and by the end of the week they were completely gone; there was some scabbing from where I'd made the area bleed and there was also bruising however today the scabs have gone and so has majority of the bruising and I'm glad to say it's been worth it. I have new clear pink skin and my foot is healing really nicely.
I would totally recommend this to anyone who's had trouble getting rid of verrucas, ACV really does work!

I was wondering would white vinegar work just the same as white wine vinegar? And also, how long do you think i should do it for to see big results?
Thanks

In my early twenties I developed a few verrucas on my big toe, my doc advised to leave them and as he predicted they went of their own accord.
Flash forward to hitting 40 and another one appeared. I left it as before but it remained, set up home and multiplied. For the last four years I've had a horrid cauliflower growth, consisting of a cluster about the size of a 5p, on the side of my big toe with three others underneath dotted around it. I'm convinced filing it down only spread the little beggars.
Here's what I've tried:
The little circular patches which reduced it for a while but it always grew back. Painful and made my toe throb.
Bazooka gel only ever kept them in check as I was never brave enough to dig down to the root!
Hand sanitiser did nothing.
Bought a home freezing kit but wimped out after reading of the potential pain.
After finding this discussion I decided to try ACV. I'm excited to say it worked as well as I hoped!! Within two days my cauliflower had halved in size and I could see new pink skin
))) This spurred me on and I've been using it for two weeks now. Two of the 'satellites' have disappeared. The third is vastly reduced and black and my cauli has almost gone. I'll keep going with the ACV til I'm certain.
Morning and night I used a small cotton wad (pinch the top off a cotton bud) soaked in ACV placed over the verruca and secured with a waterproof plaster which stuck really well, no need for duct tape. I didn't have to dig, only file back gently a few times, as they seemed to shrivel up and die off. I've been lucky that mine were not very deep.
There's been little pain though a couple of times my surrounding skin went white and tender so gave it a break.
I'm a very happy lady and looking forward to getting my feet out this summer
Thanks to everyone who posted, this is a fantastically informative and encouraging thread. To newcomers I'd recommend reading from the start.

The day after my last post and another evening of vinegar the black spot returned so I pulled it out with some sharp tweezers, I did this 3 times all together over 2 or 3 days until there was literally a huge empty crater left in my finger. This must have been one ridiculously deep rooted wart its no wonder it was so painful and freezing didn't work at all. Once I had removed every bit of black the pain immediately went and since then I haven't covered it over I've left the air to do its thing. It shrivled and shrank and a layer of dry dead skin formed which came off yesterday and it has now practically gone, new skin has covered and I am so pleased with the results. It really does work, and this thread has been wonderful. Good luck everyone xxx

I have had a periungual wart on the side of my nailbed for about 2 years now. I have tried EVERYTHING known to man to get rid of the little beggar but nothing has worked. Infact it even grew a little neighbour wart on the front of my finger too as it was obviously feeling very lonely!!!
Anyway, I stumbled across this forum when looking for other methods to try and decided I had nothing to lose and bought some ACV. I have been soaking a bit of cotton wool to both warts and covering them with waterproof plasters for the last 6 nights. Firstly one word, PAIN!!
Oh my giddy aunt with bloomers! Throb throb throb! It wakes me in the night and I have to get my hand into a position to try to reduce the blood flow! lol! The worst bit though is when I remove the plaster each morning, I honestly feel sick with how painful it is! I can't have anything go near the finger as it's so sore and if I accidentally tap it (which I have done!) I almost have to be peeled off the ceiling! haha!
Anyway, both have gone black so I am guessing that it is working. I am a little unsure of whether I should be filing it down or trying to pick out the black bits because over on the ACV website it says not to and to leave it?
I am not sure I could even touch it with a file or scissors etc because it's so sore and all the skin around the smaller one is bright red and very sore too...
Should I try to pick at it or simply keep soaking it and let it 'fall' off itself? I just wonder whether I need to help it along? lol!
I do have high hopes for this treatment though! Seems like the only thing in years to have responded!
Thanks all
