VINEGAR, VINEGAR AND MORE VINEGAR!!! You don't need to pay money to get rid of these things!! Listen up people, if you want to see quicker results just use vinegar to get rid of your awful warts or veruca/s!! Get either white wine vinear or apple cider vinegar, cotton wool balls and some duck tape. Break the cotton wool into smaller pieces (slightly larger than the veruca or wart itself) Soak these cotton wool pieces in vinegar and place directly over the veruca/s. Secure in place over night with plenty of duck tape. Do this every night. In the morning, remove the tape and shower as usual. Let the area dry up during the day and leave alone. After only a few days you will feel slight tenderness in the veruca area and you will notice that it changes colour, becoming darker. I think that this is because the veruca has absorbed the vinegar and the flesh is decaying and drying up. This is the only thing that has helped me with mine. Don't waste money on over the counter products-its a waste!! Don't have them cut out or frozen or lazered-off until youhave tried this for at least 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure this will be the most effective thing you've tried! And easy and natural and cheap. Try it!! Good luck!!! xoxox :ok:

    Please help...

Like most commenting on here I have tried all the 'normal' remedies for verrucas. Nothing has worked, rather over its 10 year life span the original verruca has grown into 3 (around a 20p peice) in the sole of my right foot.

Its painful and I have pure hate for this thing hence I'm desperate to get rid of it. I have tried what has been suggested on here with ACV and experienced the black heads coming up, the white raw skin and the pain followed by filing down the verruca. I have also been wearing it on a piece of cotton wool taped in position for most of the day and sometimes the night. I have also done this for nearly 3 months. Yet, after all this no effect!

After so much success on here, I'm going to give this remedy another go. So, does anyone have specific instructions on how they did this/filling down - and the time scale they left before filling.

I really want this to work, and so any advice/tips would be hugely appreciated!!

    Thank you.

Hi woowoo: I have just treated two verrucas with great success. Mine began to get quite painful though, so once the black appeared I left it alone for a few days. The skin then dried out so I was able to peel it off, revealing a hole underneath. I then kept repeating for a few days with the AVC to make sure everything had gone. Over time the size of the verruca should decrease, eventually it will disappear. All I am left with is some hard skin on the side of my toe, which I am getting to grips with! Just be careful not to put AVC onto open skin, this can sting! Hope this helps.

footpatient: I treated two verrucas on the side of my big toe with AVC overnight by soaking a piece of cotton wool and then attaching it to my toe with medical tape, then covering with a sock.

each morning I removed the cotton wool and each night, filled down the white skin and re-applied the AVC.

I continued this for a week or so, then it became quite sore (the top had turned black) so I left it along for about a week. After this time I noticed that the skin (over and around the verruca) had become very dry and I was able to just peel the skin away. Being a little impatient I also cut some dead skin away, but this hurt! This revealed a hole underneath (which was normal skin colour) so I repeated for the AVC for another week, then repeated the 'drying and peeling' process. I noticed after about a month that the size of the verruca was reducing each time. Eventually they cleared up completely.

Maybe the process will be a lengthy one for you due to the size of the area? I would suggest that you keep going. They're awful things and you'll be glad to get rid! Hope this helps.

Thanks Kathryn, That did explain things clearer. It gets a bit confusing on here cos there are so many opinions!!

I shall get the girls to leave the tape off tonight and give them a couple days break. One of them has three verrucas under a nail on her foot. This is very very sore for her. She woke up last night in agony and took Brufen and she said that helped. So, as I said, I think I'll give them couple days for them to dry up a bit, and take it from there.

Bit of a callous method, but NOTHING has ever changed the appearance of the verrucas like the ACV has!

    Thanks again for your help.

    Hi everyone!

I'm one of many who have registered just to comment on this. I have had one verruca on my left heel now for about 3 years. A few months ago I started the ACV treatment and noticed the size had decreased after a few days though I was just about to go travelling so had to put it on hold. I am now back and I have one week before my long distance boyfriend comes to visit and I'm really hoping I can get rid!! Last night I applied the cider vinegar on a cotton wool swab and kept it in place with surgical tape and a sock. Today I let it dry as per all your instructions and I've just filed it ready for another application. I can already tell the root is starting to come up as before the verruca was deeply imbedded whereas now it is near the surface of my heel. I have no black yet but it is a fairly small verruca so I am hoping for some success soon!

Ill keep you all updated and good luck!!!

So I posted a while ago.....but I just thought I would update. I spent 3 days using standard white vinegar then moved onto ACV, but even after 3 days there was much improvement. Anyway a week later of consistent

applications it appeared that my 50p cluster of verrucas had gone!!! I carried on for another week anyway coz I wanted to be sure. I stopped treatment about a month ago and now the heel of my foot looks fairly normal, just some dead skin but no verrucas!!! This really does work!!!! I am soo pleased they have finally gone after 10 years!!!

    Good luck everyone!!!

Im back again - Bethany is the one with the verrucas UNDER her nail. Gosh, it looks sooooo painful. Gave her a day off the ACV then we put it back on again - two days down the line, she is in agony!! I think I will give her a week off, thus, hopefully, enabling the thing to dry right out. She cant bear to touch it cos of the pain!!

Ellie, her three, I can see the black, but its nowhere near the surface yet. Unlike Beth, hers appears to be going inwards. They dont seem to be as painful as Beth's either. I will persevere with her I think til such a time they decide to come to the surface.......!!

Thanks for those that have commented - its nice to hear different ways of doing the treatment, and how people have felt from a pain point of view!!

    Any other comments gratefully received.

Mel08: you are describing similar results to what I am having... I have had no skin actually flaking off, but the dark heads have increased with repeated use of AVC. I think that this is where the root is deep...

I have been keeping in place by covering cotton wall with plaster and then tapping over the whole thing with medical tape to keep it secure - to try and take the pressure of the spot i've been also cutting out padding to wear around where the AVC is - as I hope this will stop pushing the verruca inwards.

Ok so I have had a big horrible verruca for five years now. I wish I had done something about it when it was smaller as they respond to things much better then. Anyway I have recently had two attempts at having it frozen off but both times it came back ( £50 a time too!!) I had been reading this thread about ACV so thought I would give it a bash! Well to say its painful is an understatement it ******* agony! Wow I really did not expect that pain. I have currently done it for three nights, it turned black pretty quick. I have just been chopping out the black bits with a very sharp blade. I am currently soaking my feet in warm water with tea tree oil. I will do ACV again tonight. I must admit I am very impressed with the results so far. I really want it gone in ten days as I will be somewhere I have to be in bare feet and people will be looking and touching my feet. I know it won't be healed 100% but I want to be big nasty verruca free. Fingers crossed!!!!

Little update on my verruca. I only did a short session with the ACV last night as it was very painful. Today it was very dry and blackish so I chopped away the dead parts. I now have a bit of a hole but there is still verruca in there as I can see it. I am now putting a cotton bud soaked in ACV into the hole, perfect fit. It is stinging like crazy so I am doing it in bursts. The only thing keeping me going is knowing I am killing it. I have been limping for a few days now and just telling people I am injured. Nine days until d day. Hope it's gone!!! ACV is potent stuff. Just bought some Paul brag organic unfiltered ACV today and now also taking it orally once a day. I was reading up on the other benefits. Incredible stuff, I would be mad not to take it.

If your reading this a thinking about doing it, I say go for it! It's painful but seems effective to me. Will keep posting.

I managed to remove a WHOPPING verruca in under 24 hours.

I used Pedikur which is an alkaline based dead skin remover - I think QVC still sells its.

I then put EMLA cream ( available OTC) on it to numb it so I could excise it with a sterilised needle.

SO relieved and it didn't hurt!

Seriously folks, EMLA cream is your best friend when attempting excising these little buggers.

    Good luck all :D.

Very excited to read all these posts. I've had a large lump on the side of my foot for a year and only realized a few months ago that it was actually a varruca! Its very embarrasing as it's clearly visible and as I live in a hot country flip flops are about all you can wear. After reading this I went straight upstairs, had a shower, got out the cotton pads and vinigar and have now strapped up my foot. No pain or stinging yet which surprised me. I'll keep you posted on the progress. Fingers crossed!

I've had a verruca on my big toe for approximately 7 years now. Like the rest of you, i have tried all OTC lotions and potions, i have spent hundreds on cryotherapy... all to no avail. I have been reading this thread with great interest (and hope!) and thought I'd give it a go.

I am on day 5 now. Verruca has turned black and is extremely sensitive and painful. I can't seem to cut any more skin away. I noticed one of the 'roots' sticking out slightly and tried to pull at it with a pair of tweezers and OH MY GOD it hurt...so i left it. Any advice please?

    Hi Mix09/ soretoe,

It sounds to me like the vinegar is doing it's job, but it will get painful. I found at this point if I just left it all alone for a few days (maybe up to a week) it would all dry out and I was able to pull away layers of skin. This left a smaller verruca underneath. I would then repeat the process and the verruca underneath would get smaller and smaller each time. You must have patience! smile any white/black skin will go hard and eventually peel away. Hope this helps! Let me know how you get on!
