1.5 Years of constant pain. 28 year old, damaged penis

I was masturbating and felt something give just under the head on the left, there was no snap or pop and I didn't loose erection. For a while it didn't feel that bad, slight stinging/discomfort - I imagined it would heal or go away on its own.

After about 3 weeks or no improvement I went to the doctor and was prescribed fungal cream... I know, fungal cream for an injury? But at the time I just wanted to believe it was that simple to fix. Obviously this didn't help. Over the coming weeks and months my condition worsened. The small, say 2mm, area of pain was spreading, working it's way around the circumference of my penis, on the mucosal layer under the foreskin just under the head. I was given different steroidal creams, medication for pain, nothing does anything. I'm currently on the waiting list for Leeds University Hosiptal's Urology, and have been since July. I had a telephone consultation with the urologist and he had no idea what it could be/had never heard of anything similar.

Now, the pain is worse than ever. There is visible damage all the way round but only really when erect. I know in my heart that something like a layer of skin beneath the skin split on one side and has slowly worked its way all the way round so now my penis my look OK but under the skin is just basically a huge open wound or exposed meat that used to be covered.

If this is how I have to stay for ever, I cannot go on.

Sounds like a case of Peyronie's disease (it's fixable). Mention this at the next appointment.

Thanks for the reply. I have considered the possibility and honestly I wish it was Peyronie's, at least there is knowledge on the subject and medical procedures in place. But I don't have a curve in my penis, and after a year the pain has only got worse, this doesn't match the symptoms for Peyronie's unfortunately.

I truly believe I have torn slightly a layer of membrane or skin or facia or whatever, and this has gradually worked it's way round.

I see. In that case, I'd ask the next urologist to do a cystoscopy and an MRI of the penis. Press them on it. If there's a scar buildup from the injury, it should show up and they can start planning the next course of action (surgery).

Fully agree with the most recent reply glikkon has given you

You may possibly get seen quicker if you go to a GUM Clinic - particularly if Leed's Uni Hosp has one - say you need the pain sorted out

Believe it or not you can actually fracture your penis
