I'm now on day eight and the pain after bowel movement is very bad, when does this start to get. Better. Also feels very lumpy down below is this also normal. I would welcome any advice. I just dread the twice daily toilet trips as nothing helps the pain and it lasts a good hour.

How are you doing? I am on day 15. I feel your pain. I really suffered the first few weeks. The pain for the BM started going down a bit but there were a couple of days in a row where it wasn't seeming like less pain it was the same. I was like why isnt the pain subsiding. I started at a pain of 11/10 after a poo. It didnt hurt while I did it but as soon as I relaxed my bum it would burn like a mother!! Today I am at a pain for 4-5 outta 10. It is bearable. I hope the pain is getting less for you also.

Oh thank you for replying.. I haven't been given any guidence so its only what I read on line. I'm now on day 12 and as you say the pain is after you poo. It kicks in about 15 mins later like a spasm crampey feeling that even with pain killers lasts for anything up to two hours.. I'm down to just twice a day now but when I was on the antibiotic they upset my stomach and was going 4 times a day sometimes 3 in the morning which was awful.. I have never cried with pain but I have with this... And the clear fluid after a poo is awful for quite a while. Is this what you was like.

No worries. I came to this site desperate for someone to tell me the pain would go away. It seemed like for some people it lasted way beyond 2 weeks. I kept thinking “I can’t do this”. "I cant handle this". And once I had gone to the toilet a few times and knew what it was like, when I got an urge I would freak out because I knew the pain was coming. This op knocks you around both physically and mentally. I am down to like a 3 outta 10 for pain now. Yes, I have jelly like stuff on my undies... so gross. It’s not a lot though. How are you with the pain now? I totally understand what you are going through. I go back to work on Tuesday. I’ve had a little over 2 weeks off. Now I’m just so tired, I think from the mental battle of dreading doing a poo!! Hope the pain is getting better for you 🤍 The only good thing to come out of this so far is the fact I’ve lost a few kilos.... because I’m on the “Terrified to Poo” diet!!

Hello thanks for the reply. I'm not feeling too bad except when the bathroom calls. God the spasm you just don't know what to do with it. Nothing seems to take it away.. Its strange because its only the morning poo the afternoon toilet isn't half has bad. Not sure why that is. Is your discharge coloured mine looks a bit yellow greeny. When did you have your op. And like. You I have lost nearly a stone. Only ever went ones before now go 2/3 times a day.. Ekkkk what a conversation

i know, I dread the toilet. Sometimes its fine and others it burns. Its a surprise everytime. Yes, there is a green tinge to it. Yep, all I seem to do is talk about poo at the moment. Its such a big event now!! I had mine 22/7. I have no energy due to lack of eating. The other day I did a normal day of eating and the next day went to the toilet 4 times!! I'd like to do just one big poo a day and then give my ass a rest. Yep, very personal in depth convos with perfect strangers lol

I had mine 25th so about the same time.
Yesterday I had no pain at all just some discomfort but today feel like I've gone back again. After this morning toilet I had pain up till dinner. Well actually it's not pain more like pressure and crampy all round the cheeks of my bum pain killers don't seem to do anything.
I wonder how much longer before we feel normal. And will we ever do a normal poo again. Wonder why we have diharea no one said this to me. We're did you say you was from.

5 days ago i had my hemorrhoidectemy i am in so much pain dr gave me oxycodone today well i still havent had a BM im scared to death ive taken stool softners are my stitches goong to rip please i need advice im hurting so bad

Hello HollarGirl. I know exactly how you feel it does getter better I know you think it won't. I'm on day 24 still discomfort hours after bowel movement but it's not as bad as it was. Keep taking stool softeners and wait until you get the urge then go. Try not to push just try to relax and breath and just let it happen. You won't burst the stitches just don't Forse things.. My pain isn't when I do it , it's about 15 mins later like a bad cramp pressure apparently it's the muscles that go into a spasm.. Take care

yea well i had my first BM like 4 hours ago and i was crying worst pain in my life im still soar......ive been taking all stool softners dr had to call me in something stronger for my pain 7.5 wasnt working now i just took my firdt oxycodone and going to try to get sleep today is day 6 i hope things get better thank u

thank u i had that BM yesterday and i almost passed out it hurt so bad its like 2 am and im terrified to go tbe pain is si overwhelming the pain meds arent helping im taking stool softners and eating msinly soup ughh so its almost been a week now and i take like 6 hot baths a day thats the only thing that helps i hope it gets better i e read to mzny negative stories

It does get better but very very slowley in my experience. I'm day 25 now, think things would be better if my bowels were more regular. Can go up to 5 times a day, never had so many baths. Take care hopefully it will all be worth it in the end x

still in pain dr gave me valium because im so nervous to go to bathroom because it hurts so bad ive gone 2 times and today marked a week since surgery i also got proctofoam today 152.00 hope it helps

I would try reading a magazine on the loo to take your mind off the job in hand
