1 year after ankle break it's squeaking

Hi
So I broke my tibia and fibula a year ago and have a plate and screws in them. Everything has healed and although I get a little pain on cold days and still have.a little stiffness I know this is to be expected for some time.
This thing that has changed is that its started squeaking. My ankle occasionally squeaks when I move it. And this concerns me. Is it to do with the screws or plate? Is it post-traumatic osteoarthritis? Or something else?
I should mention I'm 25 so arthritis hasn't been a huge worry until it started squeaking.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Thank you

On April 2nd of 2018, just two years and a month ago, a car that had pulled in my driveway to make a 3-point turn , and go in the opposite direction, didn't do that very well. The lady kept the car in drive, and as the car lunged forward, she panicked and hit the gas instead of the brake. I was outside, on my property, watering some rose bushes, and hosing off my car.I jumped to get out of her way, but my right leg was run over by the car, and was crushed. Her tires took the flesh right off the leg, and I had a 3 inch by 5 inch hole, near my ankle, with blood pouring out. My leg was flat against the cement in our driveway. A Good Samaritan , came running towards me, called 911, and removed his belt and placed it around my knee as a tourniquet. I have had six surgeries on the leg. I wore an external fixator, with rods coming out of my foot, ankle, tibia and fibula for 8 months. There was skin grafting done to patch the large Hole that I had in my lower leg. On Monday, the 18th, I'm going in for my 7th surgery on the ankle, as calcium deposits have built up too much, and I have very little mobility of the ankle. So, the surgeon is going to go into my right foot next Monday, and saw some of the extra calcium and scar tissue, to give me more mobility, less swelling, and less pain. It does get better, but it takes a LOT of patience!
