1 year after complicated aortic dissection diagnosis

My Mum was diagnosed with complicated aortic dissection with intramural haematoma and penetrating ulcers also had pleural effusion. She was given 2 weeks to live by 4 specialists it is now almost 12months . She is still here !! Amazing !! I am glad she has defied the doctors but have been told the haematoma is like a bandaid stopping the dissection from rupturing. My question is how long can this hold for?

very difficult to tell; why are they not operating on your mother so that it wont rupture ?

I wonder if stenting of the damaged part of the aorta is possible and could be used to prevent further dissection or rupture?

Mum is 88 and has alzhiemers asthma , copd they thought with her co morbitities she would not survive surgery . We just want her to be pain free and able to enjoy what time she has left . She is a miricle woman who had defied the doctors so far !! But I am worried about this last episode her abdomen is so distended and her back ache is a worry sad(
