1 Year Today

Hi All

Well its exactly a year ago today ,12th Sept ,since i had my LHR .

I cant believe how quickly the year has gone and how my life has changed. Prior to the op i was struggling to walk 100 m without stopping and that prompted me after 5 years of rejections by my local NHS trust to invoke "patients choice" and choose my hospital and surgeon. I was incredibly lucky and was seen and operated on within 3 months.

I embraced the recovery process and followed all instructions including using crutches for the full 12 weeks after to avoid developing a limp. Safe to say now, everything just feels totally natural and sometimes i have to remind myself that the op even happened!!

Tomorrow i will be walking the 13.1 mile Virtual Great North Run as a milestone for myself to show how far this fantastic procedure has changed my life.

Cheers

John
