10 days after 'posterior repair' for rectocele.

Help! Im 10 days post op after this op, in chch, nz. Still 1-2 drops of red blood most days or after a BM. Not much pain but restricted movement. Have no way of telling what is normal or not! Terrified with each BM - just now felt as tho still have rectocele bulge catching things in. 😣 I'm lying or sitting all day, trying hard not to bend, twist, or lift. Not doing any housework. Just reaching or moving feels fragile at times! I have walked round the garden each day last week and done Kegels as hosp physio instructed. But right now just flat on back. Have 4-5 more weeks off work (mental health nurse, i just sit really).
All help, reassurances rather than horror stories, advice, guidance etc desperately welcome!@

I’m still wearing a pad for slight bleeding and have felt scratchy down there which people have said is just the stitches dissolving. I too was scared of a BM so rang my sister who is also a MH nurse and she said justbtake some laxatives to ease it until feel more comfortable. This helped as just cleared me out with no straining! Sorry for the details.
I just took for a couple of days on top of my sachets of stool softener which I have a 3 weeks supply of.
You seem to be having a good recovery with no movement. I have an 18 month old toddler which is hard to stick to not moving much . On the whole it seems to have worked but yesterday I went to bed and have just woken up after 16 hours ! A sign i have done to much.
Lots of ladies on here in previous discussions are very reassuring and any bulgyness felt they assure us due to swelling and will go down.
Hope you feel better soon , this lying about all day just makes you thoroughly miserable especially if an active person. I think it starts to get you down.

Thanks so much Vicky!
I couldn't imagine lifting a toddler - I flinch when I open the car or fridge door! Also wondering if starting Kegels is best now or in a few weeks? I can barely hold one for one second. I don't like all the strange new sensations. It feels as if something wants to fall out - i hope my 10yrs ago hysterectomy surgery plus sacro-illiac vaginal 'lift-up' or similar is still holding my vaginal vault 'up' to something - it feels pretty precarious st the moment 😣

I’ve just been doing the pelvic floor exercises , holding for ten sets and then 20 little squeezes , a couple of times a day.
Hope you feel better soon x Any worries I would just go see someone for some reassurance x
