10 days post-op in agony

Posted , 5 users are following.

I had my vaginal hysterectomy and pelvic floor repair on 24.06.16. I was in pain for about 3 days post-op but then started to feel fine. I went for a walk yesterday and been cooking and doing bits round the house but last night states with severe pain that has worsened today.

Been taking co-codamol and ibuprofen and wind-Eeze because I thought it was trapped wind. Nothing is helping I'm hardly losing any blood now and not constipated - any ideas??

It could be that you're doing too much too soon. What repair did you have? Anterior or posterior? Try and take it easy. The pain is usually bodies way of telling you to slow down. I'm 12wks post op tomorrow and I'm still taking it easy on some days. I get pain after exertion.

I would agree with Louise's note to us, as you have been doing well, then did a bit more work - perhaps too much at the moment - go back to taking it easier.  All the best

    Hi Louise,

You had stressed your body or doing too much. It suppose to be no heavy lifting for at least 8 weeks after op. Rest more. You only have 1 chance to recover after op.
