10 days sertraline. Help!!

I have tried citalopram & fluxoetine both to no avail, I am now trying sertraline to treat depression, anxiety & intrusive thoughts.

I am on day 10 50mg & only starting to get heightened anxiety & very tearful. I've felt like this from Sept & forget what it is like to feel happy & content. Getting desperate for answers & wanting to know if this is normal?!! How long until I feel a little better? Having thoughts of ending it all but couldn't do that to my husband & family, just need to see a light at the end of the tunnel!!!!!

    Hi i am on day 12 of sertraline started on 50 mg then up to 100 mg for the last 5 days. It seems like no two days are the same at first i felt like i had a really thick head and felt like a zombie my body ached and i felt drained then the depression went really bad and seems as though im spending most times crying but today i have had really bad anxiety which has really poleaxed me coz i take 160 mg propanolol which had stopped the anxiety everyday seems to getworse instead of better im so bewildered by all the random thoughts that come in my mind from nowhere its like my brain wants me to think of things that will bring on the anxiety its a constant battle .

      Hey Trina you are not alone on here x i was on 50mg for 15 days and now 6 days on 75mg and i feel lot better x i had those awful thoughts too but they have now passed x i take diazepam to help me and its a godsend x what are you diagnosed with if you don't mind me asking? Xx

      Hi Trina, I know exactly how you feel. Been on sertaline for 23days now. 17dsys on 50mg 6days on 25mg. I've been up and down.had terrible side effects although they seem to be lifting now but the low mood, depression and heightened anxiety with random thoughts are still happening, I seem to feel abit calmer and relaxed tonight tho but the morning will be a different story! This forum has been a life saver for me so if you want to chat I'm here. Your not alone xx

      I have depression and anxiety i have had it for over 30 years but got it under control with clomipramine but i started to get uncontrollable high blood pressure caused by the ad so i had to be tapered off it quickly over 6 weeks so now ive got all the original symptoms back of depression and anxiety plus now all the side effects of a new ad so am in a bit of a mess but i have to say this site has helped me and thanks for your reply it really has helped x

      No need to thank me hun we all have our demons on here x this page is like a family and you are never alone x whenever you nee to talk we are here x have you tried Sertraline? Its been a life saver for me, and i take diazepam for the side effects which are a godsend and make them go away xx

      Hi nicola im on 100mg sertraline and will be upping the the dose to 150mg on monday and 160mg propanolol for anxiety. I cant have tranquilisers because i got dependant on them when i was first diagnosed years ago x

      Ahh i see okay hun x i was meant to up my dose tonight but was too scared of more side effects x do you think the side effects get easier the higher you go? Xx

      Thnx for your reply its been a help especially as i look each day what you and nicola write its good to know other people know how im feeling but sorry that theyre going through it too x

      It doesnt seem as bad now the headaches gone and i dont feel I ike a zombie but i get twitchy legs when im in bed but still weepy and anxious at times especially in th mornings nightime i seem to feel calmer so i think thats a positive x

      No problem at all Trina, sorry you have been suffering so long. It's a horrible illness to have and a lot of people dont understand it. It's been a life saver this forum, never been on one before but made some good friends and it's very supportive so if you ever want to chat or rant or whatever someone is always here. How long did you say you where on sertaline for? Xxx
