Hi,

Just wondered if from other peoples experiences if you should still have pain 10 months post THR? I have started getting the groin pain and it's travelling into my leg just like I had pre hip replacement.

I'm 2 years post surgery and I've had a similar issue occur on and off a few times over the last two years. it usually occurs if I over do it on a workout or strain the muscle a bit. If i take it easy it tends to clear up in a few days to a week or two. I'm very active so me taking it easy is still walking a few miles every day and maybe yoga.

I'm 3 years down the road from having both hips replaced, my left hip which I had done first is still not right after all this time, waiting on ct scans to see what the next step is.

Some people are lucky who have had THR and with a certain amount of healing pain have now started to enjoy there lifes again, on the flip side others like myself have had nothing but trouble and pain from having it done, its not an option really to say I wish I never had it done, I needed it doing but comparing it to my right hip, I've had nothing but pain from it .

Hopefully you will pass the healing pain and regain your enjoyment again.

    good luck.

I had my right hip replaced in June 2018 and I also have had ongoing groin pain on that side; some days it is worse than other days. I started having pain on my LEFT groin about a year ago which has gotten worse. Pain goes from my left butt cheek, down my leg to my knee and then down my calve to my foot! After an MRI (that showed nothing alarming) physical therapy and injection into the hip joint (which did not work), I had an x-ray last week which showed my left hip needs replacement (worse than my right when I had that one done). So, since I have to wait 3 months after the injection, I have set my replacement for June 8. I am hoping that this works as I am so sick of the pain... at 59, I don't want to deal with this the rest of my life!

I suspect that many of you are suffering from an out of true back and and or pelvis and that a consultation with a good chiropractor could be a great help to you. Cheers, Richard

I'm 15 weeks LTHR post op, recovered fairly quickly and was playing golf at least 2x per week after 6 weeks and 1 day.

Golf is all about rotation and on the downswing I need to rotate around my left side, I do get some upper inner left leg thigh soft tissue/muscle discomfort after walking a few kilometres.

My wife saw our orthopedic surgeon last week as she's having her other knee replaced soon, I asked her to ask Ben why I'm still suffering the upper leg discomfort ad he said I've just too much too quickly.

If I just walk around at home and not playing golf, my upper leg is fine, looks like it's just going to take longer if I'm not prepared to sit around and do very little.
