10 months post myomectomy

Hi, I am 10 months post myomectomy now. Had multiple fibroids removed with one of them being over 17cm. I was placed on birth control pills for the first 3 months and even with those the bleeding was bad for the first 2 months though they stopped on day 6 once I started my next round of pills. Things got better after that and ultimately 5 months post surgery I was having a normal 5 day cycle with moderate bleeding. Last month my period was quite light and I suddenly had a mid cycle spotting for 2 days but I didn't think much of it. But then this month I have been bleeding 16 days straight, albeit light/spotting, and it's not showing any signs of stopping. Has anyone else had such an experience of periods going haywire after a normal few months post surgery? I am getting quite alarmed cause I thought those nightmarish period days were behind me. Am hoping it's just the hormones adjusting/uterus healing. Also hope hearing about other's experiences might soothe my frayed nerves and make me feel like I'm not alone 😦
