Hello I am in Australia, 10 Weeks ago I had double bunion surgery it has not been fun at all. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem. My big toes appear to be bending towards my other toes worse than before the operation. My right foot big toe has bent so much my other toes are squashed and it feels like my foot is in a toght fitting shoe all the time. Is this normal? I am not surewhat to do I have tried telling people with no success.

Wow in 2 days it'll be 3 months for my left foot and in 8 days it'll be 2 months for my right foot. Left foot is straighter than the right but my right is starting to look better. I'm sure it'll be straighter when the swelling goes down. I'm not sure why your feet are so jammed together??? Have you tried toe spacers? Just give it time. I'm sure your feet will be ok.

Thanks for your reply. No have not tried toe spacers. However around 4 weeks after I was told to place a small folded up bandage inbetween we did this with no success It just seems to be going back to the way it was. I have heard some people have Lateral Ligament issues and it causes the pulling sensation does anyone else have this problem.

    Hi Pauline

I had a double bunionecotomy and hammer toe straightening

back in October last year and both of my big toes are cocked

inwards and the hammer toe is still hammer looking. When I

first had the OP they did look really straight until the swelling

subsided then they soon started to move inwards again despite

    using toe spacers as recommended.

I did express my disappointment to my surgeon as I thought I

still had bunions and thats what was pushing them over.

I'm in the UK and when I look at pics of other peoples feet they

seem lovely and straight but my surgeon said he never

makes the toes straight as the toe bed of a shoe isn't and it

could cause more problems withnthe shoe pressing on the side

    of the toe.

Bunions are gone..well still have a slight dorsel bunion on right

foot... and believe it or not I still have some discomfort after a

day on my feet but its a lot more comfy wearing shoes now than before.

    Hi everyone

I had my double bunion and hammer toe surgery on both feet at the same time 13 weeks ago. All is well , I have no pain , minimal swelling mainly at night and I am pleased withy progress. I wanted to recommend this open toe gel socks which separate and cushion the toes and the ball of the foot. I found them invaluable. I still wear them at home and they are so comfortable . Bit hard to put them on initially but gets easier with use. They help in making the ties straight too. I will post a picture. I bought them from Amazon.

This is the open toe gel socks I was talking about. They are soft and cushions the toes, the bunion site and the ball of the foot. You might find them useful.
