hi just an update on my venlafaxine story, been on 150mg of ven and 15mg of mirt for 10 weeks now, anxiety has slowly crept back in these past few days just wondering if this is normal. Iv been told to give it the full 12 weeks but i would have thought it would have subsided by now

Hi Aaron, I would have thought that you would be a good step forward in relieving your symptoms at 10 weeks in however it can take longer than 12 weeks to get any therapeutic benefit from venlafaxine. Be aware that anxiety is a very common side effect of venlafaxine and you may still be settling in to the drug. Next advice from your doctor will likely be to increase your dosage of ven. My advice would be to stick where you are, an increased dose won't necessarily help you and may in fact make you worse. Sorry this isn't more helpful. Phyllis

I always worry about going back to my worst point but if you think about it when you were really ill you didn't realise how bad you actually were until you started to get better. Now you know the signs of regressing you are going to seek treatment before you get as bad. So theoretically you will never be as bad as that again.
