    Hi Help29493

We note from a recent post which you have made to our forum that you may be experiencing thoughts around self-harm. If we have misinterpreted your comments then we apologise for contacting you directly. But if you are having such thoughts then please note that you are not alone in this, and there are people out there that can help.

If you are having these suicidal thoughts then we strongly recommend you speak to someone who may be able to help. The Samaritans offer a safe space where you can talk openly about what you are going through. They can help you explore your options, understand your problems better, or just be there to listen.

Their contact details are on our patient information leaflet here: https://patient.info/health/dealing-with-suicidal-thoughts, which also offers lots of other advice on how you can access the help you may need.

If you are having such thoughts then please do reach out to the team at the Samaritans (or the other people detailed in our leaflet) who will understand what you're going through and will be able to help.

    Kindest regards

    Patient

I'm sorry to say in my experience with my own children CAHMS is not a great service. Now that you are 18 you should be getting referred to adult psychological services to continue your treatment. Hopefully they will be better able to help you.

In the meantime perhaps you need a change of medication? I've yet to find an antidepressant that works for me. I've just started on my 5th one. Maybe Sertraline isn't the one for you. I know it's hard but don't give up.

Hi, I have bpd..I take Abilify (which I love), Lamictal, Zoloft and Adderall (for ADD).. It is a very good cocktail of meds for me. I would seriously start looking for a more helpful and prestigious business to go to for help with this serious mental illness. Don’t wait any longer. If you feel like hurting yourself or someone else then I’d highly recommend you to go to the emergency room for psych. Better safe than sorry. I get through life by listening to the music that I love, spending time with my beloved dog, being around and keeping in close touch with people who genuinely care for me. It is essential to find a great mental health clinic; with experienced Doctors who seem to genuinely care about their patients. Maybe change meds? Do things that make YOU feel good. Put yourself first in your life. Get spiritual, if that’s what would help you. Life is short, really. I died and came back to life recently due to a heroin overdose!! I’ll write about that at another time. I went into cardiac arrest and my heart stopped!! I woke up with Doctors all around me! I’m grateful to be alive right now, but do totally understand how being suicidal feels!! All feelings pass eventually... I really hope you feel better. You are being neglected at your current clinic. Time to find a new one.
