100% sure I've relapsed

Sorry for another discussion. I've woken up in agony, walking is very hard, I couldn't get dressed properly and had to leave out the socks. I'm so scared, I was nearly immobile before my discectomy, I can't go through that again.

What do I do now? Wait a couple of days? Or demand to see someone. I've still not had my 2 week post op review, 2 months post op.

Make the phone call and if you get nowhere with that I would suggest calling and ambulance as they will have to come and see you then.

I would ask to see someone and get an explanation....you need to know if there is a problem with op....mine wasn't successful and my screws are loose and I now cannot walk without crutches and it is extremely painful walking...It is impacting on hips now...

Thankyou for your replies. Today I had my last physio session, she agrees I am in fact a lot worse, numbness is worse, reflexes are worse.

Unfortunately nobody can get the surgeon to have a review any sooner, I was supposed to see him 2 weeks post discectomy, but by the time I see him it will be 3 months post op.

I am scared I'll need another op, perhaps a fusion. I am only 25, I feel too young to have these issues.

I am back in crutches and the way I walk now is impacting my back. I've been told to keep taking my morphine and naproxen in the mean time

I agree, call an ambulance, they will then take care of you and check it all out. Best Wishes.

So to be clear your op was 2 months ago and you still haven't seen anybody for a check up?  What about physio sessions?  These are really important for your rehabilitation.  Hopefully it's just a blip and you get back on the road to recovery.

    Hia

you need to see someone urgently , I'm afraid you have to push yourself and make a fuss else they will leave you to get on with it. I've had my third disectomy in March and mine has just gone agian but my post op review is on Thursday so im expecting a fusion . I agree with others that you may even hahave to call ambulance so at least you are in the system hope you get the answer you need Jue. X

Thankyou everyone. I've tried calling my gp, to which I was told it's not an emergency and to try again tomorrow. My gp is an orthopaedic specialist so i am keen to get an appointment. If no luck again tomorrow, I will find a way to get to the hospital and be seen thay way. Unfortunately with my husband working full time, and children at home it is very difficult. I get very little help but I'm hoping my mother in law is willing to help me tomorrow for a while
