100% WORKING TREATMENT for my IBS!

Hi, I am writing this to try to help everybody that I can because I have been on the same boat as you guys and gone through this living hell for 3 years!!!  Short description about my previous case was that I could almost eat nothing, only eat what is normally designated for IBS menu, I was always feeling that I had to go to the Bathroom, I would have IBS-D attacks daily, even taking a lot of Imodium would not work totally, painful bowel cramps, the whole works… I could go on with the list…but you guys already know what are the symptoms from personal experience.

Doctors give this autoimmune disease the name of IBS because they are totally clueless of why this happens, so they just grab all the symptoms and put them in one bag calling it IBS… to me it is just the doctors another way of saying they are clueless but they don´t want to show it to us so they won´t look bad.

Dr. Pimentel who has come up with the theory about SIBO is the cause makes me think that he is correct, this is the only one doctor that had a clue.

Now for the Treatment that I used daily :

From 10 gram to 30 grams of L-Glutamine, to repair the damaged intestinal mucosa and lining. Repairing this will block big food particles from entering the blood stream directly due to the holes in the intestinal lining cause by the bad bacteria.

12 billion Probiotic daily at least, start by using the 50 billion probiotic and then after seeing results you may try to decrease to cheaper probiotics, but don´t go below 10 billion.

Using the SIBO treatment first if desired:

Use Xifaxan ( Rifaximin) antibiotic to wipe out the bad bacteria but this will also wipe out the good bacteria ( check for Dr. Pimentel’s SIBO treatment). While you are doing this, I advise you to take probiotics daily to compensate the bacterial slaughter in the intestines. You can also start L-Glutamine ate the same time to repair the intestinal mucosa and Lining.

After the Xifaxan Treatment, keep on taking the heavy duty 50 billion probiotic daily and glutamine. After getting better, you may try to change the dosages of L-Glutamine and Probiotics and see how you adapt to lower dosages to try to save money.

Since many if not all IBS people are prone to getting E.Coli overgrowth again, you will have to keep on taking L-Glutamine and Probiotics for the rest of your life. I am on this treatment for 1 year and now I eat Pizza, Junk food, Spicy food, drink sodas and Coca-Colas and am totally normal as I was before. I will not say I am cured because it must be an auto-immune disease, but you may keep it in check and be 100% normal by just taking this for the rest of you days ( L-Glutamine and Probiotics).

I have tried previously all know medications for IBS, Antidepressants, anxiolytics , antispasmodics, tried acupuncture, etc. and I was only 30% better, because this medicines do not fix the problem, the just drug your gut to numbness…

This treatment will take around 6 months to reach 100% improvement, but you will notice improvements after 2 months, so be patient.

Good Luck to all and may god help you!

Hi Maurice - Having IBS-d, I'm using the 50 billion probiotic brand RL you mentioned in the previous posts, but in looking for better cost I'm seeing some other brands that have at least 10 strains and 50 billion CFUs or organisms.  Are 50 b CFUs/organisms same as 50 b cultures?  The cheaper brands don't give the amount of bifido and lacto cultures, like RL does, 30 b bifido and 20 b Lacto.  Does any of this make any difference.  It's less than half of what I am paying for the RL, so I'm a little skeptical, but would be nice to save money.

Also, seeing some of these brands of probiotics that have FOS, fructooligosaccharides, added in them.  I read somewhere that FOS can irritate IBS-D.

    Thank you

Hi, you can go for lower quantity probiotics, that will still help you. The only idea here is the more, the faster to get there to heal and take control of the bowels with good bacteria. I do change alot on probiotics brands and I never had any issues with FOS, so I cannot confirm or deny totally what you are saying, because what may not affect me, could possibly affect others, but it is most not likely to be true.

    Hi Maurrice:

I have been suffering from IBS-D for last couple of years, have lost a lot of weight (more than 10 Kg) and have been taking all sorts of antispasmodics, antidepressants etc. Nothing has really helped and it took me 2 years to establish that I am better off on a low fodmap diet.

I have been taking L-glutamine for more than a month now (10g every day) and I see a massive improvement in my bowel movements (probiotics don't suit me and always cause pain and 'D', I have already done a 15 days course of rifaximin 500mg).  I have regular and well formed bowel movements, but in addition to l-glutamine I have to follow a very strict low fodmap regime.  As long as I follow a low fodmap diet, I have no symptoms at all. Perfect bowel movements, no pain/cramps, no urgency etc. But only a little divergence (a couple of spoons of fruit salad or cury made in onion/garlic) causes severe ‘D’ with loose and watery stools lasting for 4-5 days. Fodmap is an extremely difficult regime to follow, it has made me antisocial as I cannot go to parties and enjoy common healthy food.

Although l-glutamine has helped me a lot, I cannot take normal food.  Do you have any suggestions regarding my situation?

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience, you are helping a lot of people around the globe.  I am from Pakistan and I really appreciate your effort to help others.

    Thanks

Hi, I am glad to hear that you are better. My advice is for you to take probiotics because they are your core treatment. I have stopped taking glutamine and now only take probiotics as prevention and maintenance of the guts. I have read a few cases where people had "D" with to much high dosage of probiotics . So since this treatment is not a one size fits all, you will have to adjust your dosage of prebiotic, like other people had to adjust their intake of l Glutamine. So my advice is to try different brands of probiotics with different dosages of probiotics to find the one that suits you best. As said, probiotics is very important to fix the gut walls because the help eradicate the bad bacteria so they do not come back and create havoc on your bowel walls and let them heal instead. Good luck and thanks for the feedback

Hi Maurice: Thanks for the tip on probiotics, I will definitely try different brands to see if anything suits me.

My core problem is that although I feel perfect on a low fodmap diet, symptoms reappear if I diverge only a little.  Taking as less as four grains of grapes results in a severe "D" for 4-5 days.  Do you think it is too early for me to try the challenging food (have been on l-glutamine for more than a month now)?

      Thanks

      Hi,

just read your post and thought I would tell you about Symprove. I've tried lots of different probiotics with no effect whatsoever. But I found Symprove and have been on it for 5 weeks now. My symptoms have dramatically improve. You can look at their website. Good luck

Hi, thank you for your input.  I will check if Symprove is available in my country.  Out of my curiosity, have your symptoms improved on restricted diet only?  Thanks

    Hello Maurice and everyone,

I have been following this discussion for a while and had read all the posts here. I have, what doctors tell me IBS or SIBO (though I don't have D nor C but mostly bloating, belching, gasses, stomach discomfort and irritation etc) . They treated me with antibiotics, which didn't make things better so I started researching and treating myself with probiotics. I have taken lower dose (10 billion) probiotics throughout the past 9 months or so and recently tried VSL as some of you on this board, which seems to have triggered a herx reaction. I took 1.5 sachets in three days and felt sick on the fourth day so I stopped taking it but still have a reaction - bloating, heavy belching as well as ditziness, headache, heavy head, sweating etc. It seems like it may get better at times but after a food intake the bloating increases and symptoms come back (headache, fuzzy, dizzy, heavy head). It feels that the symptoms are relieved if I belch a lot and let the gasses out.

Based on what I've read here it looks like it might be a herx reaction that some of you had experienced. How long it did it last for you and what did you do to make it go away - it's very frustrating. Is this common, normal and how long can it last? What do you think about this?

Hi, try other brands of probiotics and with lower dosages then. Not everybody reacts the same way to high doses of probiotics. Good Luck
