100% WORKING TREATMENT for my IBS!
Hi, I am writing this to try to help everybody that I can because I have been on the same boat as you guys and gone through this living hell for 3 years!!! Short description about my previous case was that I could almost eat nothing, only eat what is normally designated for IBS menu, I was always feeling that I had to go to the Bathroom, I would have IBS-D attacks daily, even taking a lot of Imodium would not work totally, painful bowel cramps, the whole works… I could go on with the list…but you guys already know what are the symptoms from personal experience.
Doctors give this autoimmune disease the name of IBS because they are totally clueless of why this happens, so they just grab all the symptoms and put them in one bag calling it IBS… to me it is just the doctors another way of saying they are clueless but they don´t want to show it to us so they won´t look bad.
Dr. Pimentel who has come up with the theory about SIBO is the cause makes me think that he is correct, this is the only one doctor that had a clue.
Now for the Treatment that I used daily :
From 10 gram to 30 grams of L-Glutamine, to repair the damaged intestinal mucosa and lining. Repairing this will block big food particles from entering the blood stream directly due to the holes in the intestinal lining cause by the bad bacteria.
12 billion Probiotic daily at least, start by using the 50 billion probiotic and then after seeing results you may try to decrease to cheaper probiotics, but don´t go below 10 billion.
Using the SIBO treatment first if desired:
Use Xifaxan ( Rifaximin) antibiotic to wipe out the bad bacteria but this will also wipe out the good bacteria ( check for Dr. Pimentel’s SIBO treatment). While you are doing this, I advise you to take probiotics daily to compensate the bacterial slaughter in the intestines. You can also start L-Glutamine ate the same time to repair the intestinal mucosa and Lining.
After the Xifaxan Treatment, keep on taking the heavy duty 50 billion probiotic daily and glutamine. After getting better, you may try to change the dosages of L-Glutamine and Probiotics and see how you adapt to lower dosages to try to save money.
Since many if not all IBS people are prone to getting E.Coli overgrowth again, you will have to keep on taking L-Glutamine and Probiotics for the rest of your life. I am on this treatment for 1 year and now I eat Pizza, Junk food, Spicy food, drink sodas and Coca-Colas and am totally normal as I was before. I will not say I am cured because it must be an auto-immune disease, but you may keep it in check and be 100% normal by just taking this for the rest of you days ( L-Glutamine and Probiotics).
I have tried previously all know medications for IBS, Antidepressants, anxiolytics , antispasmodics, tried acupuncture, etc. and I was only 30% better, because this medicines do not fix the problem, the just drug your gut to numbness…
This treatment will take around 6 months to reach 100% improvement, but you will notice improvements after 2 months, so be patient.
Good Luck to all and may god help you!

Update on my Life, Still OK and cured, eating overtome food ( Pizza ) at work and increased to 4 cups of coffee a day... got to stop on the caffeine, having a hard time to sleep now, lol. I have just traveled yesterday for 11 hours totally relaxed. the treatment is still working great. I am still on probiotics and a rotational intake of L-Glutamine for maintenace of the bowels. Still a normal guy with a normal life. Good Luck to you all

Thank you for the info. I get bouts of IBS that last for maybe 2 weeks every morning, then it just goes away for months. But it ruins my whole day when I get it.
I'll start your program.
Thank you.

I just finished reading this entire thread and I can surely say that I have learned more about gut-health issues. While reading this thread, I also started to take L-Glutamine and probiotics (450 Billion).
I should point out that I've been doing my homework throughout this whole ordeal. I've read many articles - accredited and non-accredited to be thorough - and I can say that there is a world of charlatans online whose sole intention is to try to sell you products but they aren't necessarily interested in your health. My best advice to you is to be careful with where you get your source of information from. You should also be wary of some people in forums like these because it appears as if most of the people on them don't really know or understand what they're talking about. This is a rare forum because it seems like Maurice has "brute-forced" his way or "happened upon" into finding something that actually works, he self "medicated," and found that this worked for him. I am happy to know that he is helping others because these gut-issues are a miserable thing to live with. Thank you Maurice.
A quick summary of my gut-health issues:
- July 2015: I developed debilitating dysphagia; I could not even swallow my own spit. This also made it difficult to sleep since I had reflux and so I would choke whenever I lay down.
- August - November 2015: I ended up in the E.R. two times and made a bunch of doctor visits (PCP, ENT, GI, etc.).
- February 2016: I left my job because I could no longer function like normal.
- June 2016: I was diagnosed with H. Pylori, took the triple-therapy, developed SIBO. I should point out that I was taking probiotics + eating yogurt while taking the antibiotics.
- July 2016: My dysphagia became better but not completely healed; I still needed water to flush food down to my stomach. Meanwhile, my sleep schedule was way out of whack.
- December 2016: I found this forum after finding other articles on how beneficial L-Glutamine is in repairing the stomach lining.
- January 2017: I started to take L-Glutamine and finally my sleep schedule began to improve and so did my bloating issues.
- A week ago: I started to take probiotics(450 Billion).
Throughout this entire time, I've always had bloating issues. The pressure became so intense that it would rise to my throat and made me feel like I was choking; needless to say, this past year and a half have been a complete nightmare.
The L-Glutamine made it so that I could eat food without bloating for about the first two weeks but then I started bloating again. I should point out that I did eat some "unhealthy" food (spaghetti, mac&cheese, ice cream) to see how it would affect me but I only did this for 2 days and then I went back to eating healthy. My bloating came back about three or four days ago but it's a lot better when compared to before.
I will continue to take the L-Glutamine and the probiotic since this is the only thing that seems to be working. I've tried many other products and they didn't work for me either. I am aware that this is a long-term treatment so I will stick to it for a long-term.
I will keep you all posted.

It seems that the people with the best results have all used an antibiotic first im just curious to see if the antibiotic is a neccessary part of the treatment.
Thanks in advance.

Dear gawd!! The information available to someone who has just recently been diagnosed with IBS is overwhelming. It can also be very conflicting. It's very difficult for me to know where to start my treatments as far as the state of my gut bacteria . In the past year and a half I've been on a continual regimen of antibiotics to treat what my doctor said it's a bladder infection . I'm beginning to wonder if that has been the case at all. Ive eliminated gluten, lactose and 99% of sugar from my diet. I also take a probiotic. It seems I am rarely without pain and discomfort and severe distension in my upper belly. I have never taken L glutamine I am currently taking peppermint oil with oregano oil and caraway seed supplement. It seems to be helping with bloating but I'm finding it creates wicked acid reflux. Can someone offer some suggestions as to where I should go from here. Just an FYI,,, my family Dr is useless and I cannot get in to see a gastroenterologist for at least 18 months!

Hi Maurice - I read your forum in 2015 and started taking the L-Glutamine and probiotics and I think I'm pretty much recovered from my IBS-D almost completely now. One mistake I think I made was for the first year I took 15 grams of L-Glutamine in the morning on an empty stomach and 15 grams before going to bed. I did that because I got sick one morning after taking the whole 30 gram with a lot of water and it scared me. Later I realized the illness I got that day had nothing to do with the L-Glutamine, it was just a stomach bug. During the first year my condition improved, although slowly. I was able to go way down on the over the counters. Early this year I decided to start taking the whole 30 grams with a little water on an empty stomach in the morning and within a month my condition improved even more rapidly and now about 3 months later I feel I'm almost 99% improved. I think I would have healed faster if I had taken the whole thing in the morning from the beginning, but I'm fine with it and just elated with my results. In the last month I doubled the probiotic I take, a 50 billion 14 strain, to 100 billion and that is helping even more. You asked if anyone had success with taking L-Glutamine and probiotic alone. I never took any antibiotic initially and I hadn't taken an antibiotic for many years before the IBS-D started. I started with your regimen after having had IBS-D for about 7 years, since 2009. I stopped eating the foods that irritated the IBS-D while on L-Glutamine and probiotic. Stress used to be an irritant for me but that eventually stopped happening during my first year on L-Glutamine. Recently I've been able to add in some foods I couldn't eat before without having symptoms. I may cut down on the L-Glutamine sometime in the future, but I will probably not stop taking it completely. I buy it in the 1000 kg bags online. For me I think it's well worth the cost. I'm 65 years old and I'm able to go out and do almost anything I want to now. I'm able to go back to college. I'm so grateful I found your forum. I just wanted to let you know about my success and thank you again for your advice. Best to you Maurice!
