100% WORKING TREATMENT for my IBS!

Hi, I am writing this to try to help everybody that I can because I have been on the same boat as you guys and gone through this living hell for 3 years!!!  Short description about my previous case was that I could almost eat nothing, only eat what is normally designated for IBS menu, I was always feeling that I had to go to the Bathroom, I would have IBS-D attacks daily, even taking a lot of Imodium would not work totally, painful bowel cramps, the whole works… I could go on with the list…but you guys already know what are the symptoms from personal experience.

Doctors give this autoimmune disease the name of IBS because they are totally clueless of why this happens, so they just grab all the symptoms and put them in one bag calling it IBS… to me it is just the doctors another way of saying they are clueless but they don´t want to show it to us so they won´t look bad.

Dr. Pimentel who has come up with the theory about SIBO is the cause makes me think that he is correct, this is the only one doctor that had a clue.

Now for the Treatment that I used daily :

From 10 gram to 30 grams of L-Glutamine, to repair the damaged intestinal mucosa and lining. Repairing this will block big food particles from entering the blood stream directly due to the holes in the intestinal lining cause by the bad bacteria.

12 billion Probiotic daily at least, start by using the 50 billion probiotic and then after seeing results you may try to decrease to cheaper probiotics, but don´t go below 10 billion.

Using the SIBO treatment first if desired:

Use Xifaxan ( Rifaximin) antibiotic to wipe out the bad bacteria but this will also wipe out the good bacteria ( check for Dr. Pimentel’s SIBO treatment). While you are doing this, I advise you to take probiotics daily to compensate the bacterial slaughter in the intestines. You can also start L-Glutamine ate the same time to repair the intestinal mucosa and Lining.

After the Xifaxan Treatment, keep on taking the heavy duty 50 billion probiotic daily and glutamine. After getting better, you may try to change the dosages of L-Glutamine and Probiotics and see how you adapt to lower dosages to try to save money.

Since many if not all IBS people are prone to getting E.Coli overgrowth again, you will have to keep on taking L-Glutamine and Probiotics for the rest of your life. I am on this treatment for 1 year and now I eat Pizza, Junk food, Spicy food, drink sodas and Coca-Colas and am totally normal as I was before. I will not say I am cured because it must be an auto-immune disease, but you may keep it in check and be 100% normal by just taking this for the rest of you days ( L-Glutamine and Probiotics).

I have tried previously all know medications for IBS, Antidepressants, anxiolytics , antispasmodics, tried acupuncture, etc. and I was only 30% better, because this medicines do not fix the problem, the just drug your gut to numbness…

This treatment will take around 6 months to reach 100% improvement, but you will notice improvements after 2 months, so be patient.

Good Luck to all and may god help you!

    hi maurice

so glad you are feeling well.

I am just a bit troubled that you have reverted to 'junk' food...

Those of us who have pioneered and made known these remedies are asking and hoping that beneficiaries will join in the campaign against the conglomerants that you mention....who feed off those trapped in the deliberately engineered addiction of  junk foods. May I invite you to consider addressing the addictive nature of your condition ?  Please don't advocate that folk go back to this drug food.

But you matter too!  So please...you take care too.

This stuff has other ways of 'getting  you' so please don't take risks and try not to think of our appalling ways in the west as normal. Its just been a short time...and what a mess we've made ...please don't be a part of further mess. What can you do? Look at groups campaigning against mon san to  ...join in with the green revolution, support green peace, become an activist...support organics and learn how to grow your own.....even in a tub....but being a political activist might suit you...its such fun!!

Wow...um...you kind of sound like someone that knocks on doors with a bible.

Let the man eat junk when he wants smile All moderation - lifes far too short not to enjoy some 'junk' food. Especially with all the crap/diets we put up with IBS - id pay $1million dollars to be able to eat any food again with no consequences.

      Tee Hee .....I do rather don't I....yikes !!!!!!!

Thanks for pointing that out !

I totally agree with you. I eat healthy 90% of the time, but of course since I have cured my condition, now I might want to take a bite once in a while of junk food just for the pleasure of the taste. I have tested myself to the limits previously with junkfood just to confirm how well I got. Now I am back to my normal European home cooking.

Good for you maurice and for your sensible normal diet...junk and GMO eaters pay a price of one sort or another. should i bang something on the table and look into my crystal ball surrounded by a swirling mist?

thanks for starting this thread maurice and for helping others. x

This post/topic definatly got my attention!

Got back from holiday with pneumonia and took a 10 day course of antibiotics.

Noticed the whole time my constant IBS symptoms pretty much dissapeared.

I have chronic stuffy nose , gas , cramp , constipation , can get puffy skin , red under eyes , certain foods like onions send me to hell for 24 hours etc

Which to me means it could be SIBO or leaky gut ( who knows )

Giving this a go with a 25 billion a day probiotic and 10g of glutamine a day.

Good for you Ig....having a go.

Its ideal to be supported by an expert though. Can save years of messing around...although some simple self help can't harm. A naturopath would have knowledge of this field...

My only suggestion would be not to immediately take a probiotic..until you have sealed and healed your bowel. Otherwise you could be feeding the pathogenic bacteria which have been thriving on the acid-forming foods ...aka junk...which you may have been consuming.

Have you considered an elimination diet in the attempt to find your allergens and food reactivities?

Have never done anything after an antibiotic course though , or used glutamine since about 10 years ago.

One thing that has been a godsend is Konsyl-D - amazing stuff for bowel movements constipation related...and without side effects.

Ive tried doctors , colonoscopy and also the one down the throat , lots of different probiotics , chlorella , coconut oil , magnesium , movicol , high fiber diet , low carb diet , fodmaps diet , 5-htp/st johns etc from a depression perspective , candida methods , digestive enzymes , acaia fiber , peppermint caps , kiwifruit enzymes , gluten free diet , gas-x , mercury removal techniques incase from amalgam fillings...

Off the top of my head - Anyway IBS is a bitch and you end up looking like a hypochondirac smile

Low carbs works well but im looking for the ultimate of having it as normal as it used to be - much like how the OP has described.

Im in New Zealand and a naturopath is not as easy to find as far as I know.

      hi Ig

lets hope maurice comes back...he seems to have a handle on this..probably the anti-biotics killed off everything so now is prob best time to act...your strategy DOES sounds a good one....crowd out the pathogens with friendly probiotic bacteria...and seal the gut with L Glutamine simultaneously.

gosh endoscopy and a colonoscopy....you have been through it.

i think you are really taking responsibilty and deserve a good outcome. A lovely recipe to cool and settle things might be a grated carrot salad? it is  fibre but it is also good food for the bacteria that you want to encourage since another aspect of the battle is inviting the good bacteria to stick around...bit like feeding house guests that you'd like to stay!!

here it is....but if not helpful or part of the strategy you have in mind please ignore. would be interested in your long term eating plan...since that is where success lies.

In a jam jar put as many cloves of garlic as you feel like preparing....could be the whole bulb....just nip off the end which was attached to the bulb, cut in half lengthways, strip of the skin and put all the pieces into your jar. (Suck on a half clove or chew the green bit the allicin which looks like a tiny spring onion...if you have a sore throat..never allow any infection to get a hold in your throat nor let it get onto your chest by always having a garlic 'lozenge' to hand).

Add a 1/4 of a jar of organic apple cyder vinegar  to the garlic in the jar and jog it around to start the garlic infusion... then add 1/4 of a jar of organic cold pressed olive oil into it as well...screw on lid tightly and shake.

Take 3 large organically grown carrots ...remove either end

using an electric mixer with a grater attachment (approx size of cheese gratings....not too fine...but not carrot sticks either) feed the 3 large carrots through the funnel and get  the last bits thro with the pushing device.

Pour the vinagrette you have already made onto the carrots and stir in. But don't let the garlic out of the jar..you don't want to swallow the flesh (makes you faaaaaaart). But you'll get the benefit of the garlic juice. The idea of the jar is to provide more than one serving of the vinagrette. You can keep adding oil and vinegar to the jar since you've done the max garlic prep so that work should last you several additions of oil and vinegar !!!!

Allow to macerate for a lovely pungeant taste and serve. Great for breakfast the next day(!) ...when thoroughly soaked and strong tasting (delicious sour face pulling at first til you get used to it and then love it!!).

You can eat this with a salad or with a grass fed meat serving. I used to enjoy it with a baked potato...don't know about potatoes now...some suggest avoiding as nightshade related but you decide..such a great comfort food (what are your thoughts on potatoes?). Have this carrot mix daily...alternate with grated beetroot instead on other days...but not together as apparently too much sugar.

Make enough so you can save some for breakfast...its delicious ...really pungeant. You can keep adding more oil and vinegar til  you want to change the jar and wash the existing one out. Keep in a cool dark cupboard on some tissue paper...unless your fridge is not too cold...as the oil freezes).

Keep up a friendly tasty fibre regime like this which is very digestible and needed by your biome so have these friends stick around!!!!!

Also don't use any antibiotic sprays ANYWHERE  not in your kitchen nor on your work top ...no where. You need to build up your own personal array of helpful bugs associated with you to help you. xxxxx

i am in nz too and followed similar pathways too with no long term recovery in sight - mine started from course of steriod dextramethasone which was brilliant for brain surgery but not for bowel it seems - anyway that period of tine was all about the head and thankfully years later i am here still - so to the bottom of it !  diagnised with crohns and colitis - 2001 - ongoing treeatments that give temporary relief at times but soon enough back again ! just started yesterday on selenium drops x 3 under tongue daily - and peppermint essential oil in my water bottle to help heal bowel !  thanks for your info as i feel way out down here at times from ongoing med care that is prepared to go outside the square !

HI, just to let everybody know, I am on an experiment now of quiting L- glutamine and trying to see if only high doses of probiotics will do the trick. My theory here is that I have repaired the mucosa lining of my guts and have control of the bad bacteria in my guts, so maybe now I will not need L-glutamine to repair because the job is already done and just keep on taking high doses of probiotics to control the bacteria in my bowels. I am already one month with only probiotics and so far, so good. I will keep you guys updated with my experiment. Good luck to all.

Thats good news!  Just wanted to know if i am supposed to be taking the VSL 3 on an empty stomach, it doesn't give any instructions on the pkt?  Also the glutamine - with or without food, have read 2 contradictory instructions on this, and do i take together with the priobiotics or seperately at different time of day.
    • Posted

Hi, I would advise you to take the probiotics and L- Glutamine on an empty stomach because that way it will not stay longer in the stomach waiting for the digestion of the food with stomach acid that may decrease the number of surviving probiotic bacterias passing through.

I only take now probiotics, but before I used to take probiotics and L-Glutamine at the same time, it does not matter if you combine them at the same time, just do it on an empty stomach. smile

Hi Maurice, sorry to bother you again.  Did you have any teething problems in the first few days of taking VSL? Am on the 4th day and have started having gas and cramping pains, i assume its just the good and bad bacteria 'fighting it out'?  Looked on website on vsl for info, few other people reporting the same. Hopefully it will pass if i perservere, or maybe better if i reduce the dose to half sachet?  I am a very small low weight person, maybe i shouldn't take the same as a strapping guy!  Any thoughts?
    • Posted

Hi, it is no bother smile I took a 50 billion probiotic and i think that VSL is a higher dosage of probiotics, since you are having cramps then probably you should reduce the dosage until you adjust to it. Also maybe you should try some other probiotic brands. I took one probiotic brand in the past that gave me some GI disconfort and made me go to the bathroom then I swapped to the one I take now and I am ok. About the teeth, I never heard or read anything about probiotics affecting the teeth, I think that it should be related to something else, what problems are you refering to?
    • Posted

Ha ha sorry i did not mean i had problems with my teeth!  'Teething problems' is just a phrase used here in the UK to mean problems in the beginning.

By the way looking at your chat with Winthorpe underneath, its made me wonder about the dosage of glutamine.  Mine says 450mg, is that too much?

    • Posted

Hi, I think that I never posted in mg previously, if I did, then it was my mistake. The dosages that I refer to are between 10 grams to 30 grams ( 40 grams max).

500 mg = 0.5 grams, so it is way too below.

About "teething problems", my bad, i did not know that expression wink

    • Posted

No problem!  Well looking at my sachets of VSL they are only 450mg, so thats way under the 12billion you say, so they should not be causing any problems.  It looks like i am taking way too little of both things!
    • Posted

Non prescription VSL3 should be 450 billion bacteria per sachet/tablet, i think its 3x higher for prescription type.
    • Posted

Hi, the weight dosages I refer above are related to L-Glutamine.

On probiotics, it is diferent you have to check the amount of good bacteria that it has, the weight of the probiotics does no matter.

Here is the info I found on their official webpage:

VSL#3 is a potent probiotic medical food that delivers the highest available concentration of beneficial live bacteria of any probiotic in the world

There are four formulations of VSL#3:

1.Capsules that contain 112.5 billion live bacteria

2.NEW - VSL#3 JUNIOR packets that contain 225 billion live bacteria

3.Packets that contain 450 billion live bacteria

4.Double Strength (DS) packets that contain 900 billion live bacteria. Due to the potency of this formulation, VSL#3 DS is a prescription only

      medical food.

So it is way above my 50 billion probitotics, but that does no matter, i think if you can handle that higher dosage, then the better and faster you will reduce the bad bacteria in you guts.

Hi yes i think it must be something to do with the translation.  I've just realised it says mil milliones, i thought it said 450 million and as its from a Spanish company in Spanish i just misundertood.  I think mil milliones must be billion, i will check in the morning.  Sorry for the confusion.  In that case i will just take 1/2 packet.  As for the glutamine, that seems correct 400mg it says so that is not enough, but i would have to take a lot of tablets a day to get 10 grams!
    • Posted

Yes i think they are 450 billion, i just did not understand it in Spanish as it says mil milliones.  See my reply to Maurice. Thanks

I used to take 1 gram ( 1000 mg ) capsules or Glutamin in powder that came in a 1 kilo recipient.
