I am on week 16. I have read that when you increase you will get the side affects again, but since you went through it once you know what to expect. Also it will level out again. I am do to have mine increased to 75, and so I'm expecting the side effects again. Im not looking forward to it but i also want to feel human again. Good luck.😎

It will settle and go away. Thats a big jump in dosage at once. I reduced my dosage by only 6.25mg and had 4 days of feeling horrible and then another week or so feeling tired. A 50mg increase or decrease at one time will make those symptoms harsher. Hope that gives you some perspective. Your dr most likely outweighed the benefit you'll get at a higher dose sooner than going up very slowly and taking months to reach full benefit.

Hi Kells123a
I have been following this forum for a few weeks but this is my first time messaging. I too started on Sert 25mg 34days ago for what I assume was mild depression with anxiety or vice versa???Now on 50mg for 26days. What a journey!!!! Longest 36days of my life. Daily I struggle with my decision to remain on it. The first 3 weeks were the hardest. The fatigue was crippling. I do feel a bit better now but still fatigued & content to not leave the house. This is not ideal as I can’t hide forever. As long as I don’t have to make decisions I am content. Will this ever pass.

You sound like I was. I've had anxiety for years but I really didn't recognise it. I put it down to working nights..4 kids..grandkids..elderly mother miles away etc.
I started to have panic attacks ..I thought I had a virus...
I thought I wasn't the type of person to get anxious!!
Anyway I was put on sertraline in Dec 17 25mg for a week and then 50mg for a good few weeks. I swear to god those were the longest weeks of my life. Side effects were shocking. I could not do anything without feeling like I couldn't breathe and I felt like I was being pushed down to the floor. I didn't go out unless I was in the car..I kept driving but that was not easy. I had to have the doctor out to me cos I couldn't go in the surgery even though it is on my road.
This is a slow working drug. But keep going cos it does work
I am now on 150mg and am loads better. Not there yet but I can go to doctors..shopping ( quickly) I can pick my grandson up from School.. I did a car boot sale on my own.
Are you sleeping? Drinking water? Eating?
Sounds like you need an increase..Side effects come again with increase usually but not as bad.
Don't give up..I nearly did lots of times..I felt like I didn't know whether to increase or decrease cos I felt so rotten. I'm so glad I kept going
Good luck
Keep posting and reading on here

Dear Hoopz
Thank you for your encouraging message. Sounds like you & I could be one & the same. I have just as many kids & losses , stress etc in past 2 years. But I also thought I had a medical condition & looked for medical reasons!!!
So proud of your achievement & this gives me strength to persevere. In your opinion how long should I wait before increasing. I think the rebound of side effects is deterring me from increasing. Appetite has improved slightly & I drink lots of water (& chamomile tea...yuck 🤢. Exercise is erratic but I’m trying. Sleep has improved slightly but still some waking up & vivid dreams .
The fatigue & lack of motivation to do simple tasks like cook is what is depressing. But hopefully this too shall pass.
