Hi Karen, I don't have a date yet, but they've said the end of Oct which seems a long time after the pre op!  I have an 8cm cyst on my right ovary which is close to my urethra.  They are going to remove both ovaries at the same time. I'm away for a few days now so won't have much internet coverage but will keep an eye on here when I can and once I'm back.  It's a good job you don't have too long to wait, the thought is probably worse than it will be.

Hi Karen, what surgery did they offer you? I had my first gynaecologist appointment last Thursday in the rapid access clinic in a teaching hospital and the doctor said she thinks I have a 12cm dermoid cyst on my left ovary. Can you tell me what's the next step for you once they told you that you have a 10cm cyst? Did you do any blood test or do a MRI before the pre-op? How long did it take for you to get the pre-op appointment from your first diagnosis? Many thanks in advance and I hope you well.

Hi Karen, how did your preop go?  I had mine yesterday too and was there over 3 hours!!  Because,of,other health problems they really wanted to cross the t's and dot the i's.  I still won't be given a date until the anaesthetist has given the go ahead - he might want to discuss it with me first.

I hope, they were able to reassure you a bit.

    Jane x
